Destiny 2’s Bungie 30th Anniversary event has finally arrived, and to the surprise of some, it actually turns out to be a huge success. Dares of Eternity is a lot of fun, the new dungeon is challenging and interesting, and more importantly, there are a lot of cool new loot to hunt down. Perhaps two of the most interesting additions are the new swords and their unique perks. In this guide we will review how to get the legendary sword The Other Half in Destiny 2.
How to get the other half in Destiny 2
One weird thing about Bungie’s new 30th anniversary event in Destiny 2 is that they add a bunch of Halo-inspired weapons that stop right before they become actual Halo weapons, since, well, Bungie is no longer running Halo. Still, it’s clear that The Other Half, along with the other legendary sword, Half-Truths, is a reference to Halo’s famous energy sword.
Obtaining the legendary sword from The Other Half isn’t very difficult, but it will potentially require a little help from the RNG gods. The other half comes from Xur’s treasure chest in his horde. You need Treasure Keys to open the chest in Xur’s Horde and every time you open it you will get one of the new Legendary Weapons from the 30th Anniversary Event that are not related to the Grasp of Greed.
We have a guide to farming Treasure Keys if you don’t know how, but the short answer is that you can get Treasure Keys by farming Eternity Challenges because you get a guaranteed drop from a successful completion.
What sets The Other Half apart from other swords is that it comes with a very cool new perk, Eager Edge. Eager Edge dramatically increases his lunge range for a short time while switching to this weapon. This means that you can potentially dive into your opponents much easier in PvP and / or abuse Eager’s Edge like Dawnblade to skate even further / faster than ever.
