A demo version of the game has appeared in the digital store, which allows you to create a character, get acquainted with the main mechanics and go through the introductory part of the story missions. Only two hours are allocated for everything, which is very little, given the lack of the usual task markers. Fortunately, players managed to find a way to extend the trial version of the game, and in this guide we will share a working method.

How to Bypass Time Limit in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trial
This method is based on the use of a special modification. Something similar has already been done with the demo version of the Resident Evil 4 remake. However, in the case of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will also need a partial bypass of anti-piracy protection and a special bypass of the in-game Steam timer. How to successfully bypass them became known with the release of the updated version of Dead Space, and the method still works today. All that is required of you is to strictly follow the instructions.
The entire process of extending the trial version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes place on Steam. If you do not have an account in this digital store, be sure to create one. And if you are afraid of (even unlikely) account blocking, use an additional account instead of the main one.
Step-by-step instruction :
- Go to the main Dragon’s Dogma 2 page on Steam.
- Select “Try Dragon’s Dogma 2 Free Trial” and click “play” or “Download” if you open it via the launcher.
- Download the game and launch it via Steam. It is recommended to create a character and get to the point where you take control of the hero.
- After that, you need to close the game and install a special mod. You can download it directly from our website from the corresponding section . The mod archive must be unpacked into the folder with the installed game.
- Go to the Steam game installation directory in the “steamapps” folder where Dragon’s Dogma 2 was installed.
- Find the appmanifest_2054970.acf file here and open it with Notepad.
- Copy the 17-digit number in the “LastOwner” line and close the file without changes.
- Go to the steam_settings folder (which you copied to the installation directory from the archive) and open the force_steamid.txt file
- Enter the copied 17-digit number there instead of “XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”
- Launch the game via the steamclient_loader.exe file from the main Dragon’s Dogma 2 installation directory.
If you did everything correctly and did not make a mistake with the number, the game will start. However, it will not be displayed in the line of running Steam games. After that, you can start a full passage of the game without restrictions.
Please note: for the game to work, you need to clear the cache every time. Otherwise, the game may not launch or freeze on the Capcom splash screen. You can delete the cache using another mod . Inside the archive, you will find the Launch_Dragons_Dogma_2.bat file, which will automatically delete the necessary files when launched, and you will be able to play without any problems.
You can also do it yourself. To do this, go to the main directory with Dragon’s Dogma 2 installed. Find the shader.cache2 file and delete it – this should be done before each launch of the game.
