How to kill mutated Jack Krauser in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The battle against Krauser on the Island is quite different from the one we had in the Castle. Now, the fight consists of several phases and ends in an impressive duel to the death in which the enemy transforms into a fearsome creature. So let’s go step by step : you are in a labyrinthine-looking ruin, although in reality there is only one path to advance.
Krauser can do two things in this first section: shoot at you from the rooftops in the distance or appear next to you to attack you in melee combat . In the first case, you have to protect yourself with walls or other structures and continue advancing as soon as he stops attacking. In the second case, the fight works the same as the one you had in the castle, so you have to block his stabs and strike right after (in this case, he will run away as soon as you do so).
Although the path is linear, you’ll sometimes see tripwires or turrets on the walls, so proceed with caution and destroy any traps you see. In the area with a couple of turrets, Krauser will surely appear, dropping down on you in a dark hallway . You know the drill: block, attack, and if the indicator appears on the screen, finish the combo with a kick to make him go away and you can continue.
When you reach a bridge outside, he’ll be on a terrace at the back and will have a rocket launcher pointed at your position. You can use the ruined walls to hide behind, wait for him to fire, and run to the next one. When you get close to him, run like hell to the door because he’ll drop a couple of grenades on it before disappearing .
Once safe, if you continue along the only available path you will climb a ladder and the real fight will begin , in which only one person will come out alive.
He looks terrifying, we agree, but the way to finish him off is not really that different from other fights you’ve already experienced. The new thing is that he now likes to climb onto balconies and execute a powerful dive attack ; you can run to get away from the impact zone, but the best thing to do is pay attention to the on-screen indicator and press circle (PlayStation) or B (Xbox) to dodge him properly. As soon as you do this, you have to attack him with the shotgun.
It’s easier to hurt him in Resident Evil 4 Remake than in the original game, but it’s also true that he’s much faster and attacks more often. In any case, if you manage to control the aforementioned jump attack, the rest of the fight is pretty straightforward and if you block his physical attacks, dodge some kicks and alternate it with shooting him several times you’ll finish him off for good . Another really interesting option is that if by chance you have 50,000 pesetas, buy a Rocket Launcher from the Peddler before reaching this area, because it’s very tempting to kill him with a single shot.
