In today’s tutorial, in fact, I will explain how to have the cape on Minecraft and how to change the skin of the cape according to your needs (indicating where to find the necessary files). All this, obviously, without any type of hack, but only through normal mods created by the community and working with the latest version of the Mojang title.
Before going into detail on how to get the cape in Minecraft , it might be useful to know the meaning of this cosmetic item in the game.
Since the birth of Minecraft, the cape has been seen as a symbol of prestige, associated with players of great value. Mojang, the game’s producer, has in fact rewarded with personalized capes those who over the years have contributed to the development of Minecraft, translating it into different languages or actively participating in the community.
In the past, capes have also been given away to attendees of Minecon , the annual event for Minecraft enthusiasts. While it may be more difficult to obtain a cape through these traditional methods these days, the cape is still an accessory that adds a touch of customization and style to your avatar, whether you’re playing in the Java Edition or Bedrock Edition of the game.
How to get the cape on Minecraft Java Edition.
One of the most appreciated possibilities by the community is that of using mods in Minecraft. In fact, these “modifications” to the game allow you to significantly improve the gaming experience. Among the various creations of the players, obviously a mod called Advanced Capes could not be missing , designed specifically to obtain capes on Minecraft.
Just to let you know, there are several mods that allow you to implement capes on Minecraft Java Edition. In the first case, with the command /setcape url [link mantello].pngyou must replace [cape link] with the URL where the .png file is stored. In fact, the files in question must be uploaded to a site that has a URL accessible to everyone and, obviously, you must be connected to the Internet for the file to be “seen” by the mod. For example, on the Minecraft Wiki hosted on Fandom.com , you can view some official cape skins, of which you can get the URL .
In the second case, however, you can use the capes made by the Advanced Capes community , using the command /setcape website [username utente creatore mantello]. Regardless of the method you want to use, after typing the command, press the Enter key and the cape will appear in the game.
Just as an example I’ll give you some cape commands that you can use in Minecraft. I warn you that some of them may not work over time, if the .png files have been removed or moved to another location.

Unfortunately, however, if you want to have the cape on Minecraft for free , I must point out that these types of packages are paid. However, the marketplace often offers promotions, discounts and even free content, so I recommend you keep an eye on it. Furthermore, obtaining a cape through the Minecraft marketplace can be a better option, as compatibility is always guaranteed, which, on Java Edition, is not guaranteed if the mods are not continuously updated.
To get started, you need to access the Minecraft marketplace, which is easily accessible from the main menu of the game. You can go directly to the Skin Packs section or do a manual search using the Search box at the top and typing the term “cape” or “cloak” .
