We teach you everything about monopolies and corporations in Civilization VI, an extra game mode included in a game pack.
In this Civilization VI guide we are going to explain one of the many game modes that we can implement in our games, monopolies and corporations , added in the Vietnam & Kublai Khan Pack , after the two main expansions of the game. This addition is not that extensive, but it is a good extra if you like the economy and resource exploitation , giving new life to certain squares and the Great Merchant.

How to create industries and corporations;Monopolies and Corporations in Civilization VI.
This mode allows you to build Industries around Luxury resources, which grant particular bonuses depending on the resource. You can also found Corporations to improve those yields and subsequently create products for the brand , thus further boosting those bonuses and tourism. A civilization with two Luxury resources exploited and having completed the Currency technology can create Industries (this can be done by a Builder), once they have completed the Economy technology a Great Merchant will be needed to create a Corporation in the same location where the Industry is located.
There can only be one industry or corporation per city , so think carefully about which bonuses are most useful to you and in which city in particular. In the end, we are talking about earning more gold and, in the long run, tourism for culture.

Below is a table showing the bonuses granted by each luxury resource . Although we are showing you the base bonuses, these are doubled when creating a corporation in the city where it is located.

How to get a monopoly
Controlling 60% or more of the world’s sources of a luxury resource gives you a Monopoly on that resource. Each monopoly gives the owner Tourism based on the number of sources of that resource they control, multiplied by the number of foreign civilizations that do not control a source of the monopolized resource.
Monopolies also give a Gold yield per turn, starting at +5 for controlling the least but rising to +10 at 75% and +25 for controlling all sources. An additional +5 Gold is given per turn for each major civilization the Monopoly owner is currently trading with.
