Magnetite is a widespread black oxide mineral, a natural iron oxide that forms at relatively low oxygen partial pressure. It occurs in deposits of various genetic types and as an accessory mineral in various rocks.
Okay, that’s not what you wanted at all. You don’t need a simple mundane magnetite, but a special one. Magnetite in Minecraft. We know a lot about it too.
Why do we need magnetite?
Magnetite in Minecraft cannot be hung on the refrigerator, it is not connected with magnetic storms and is not even located near the house. It is cool in another way. With its help, you can easily navigate the endless world of Minecraft, creating an analogue of the navigation panel, like in Fallout or The Elder Scrolls. After all, you can attach a compass to magnetite.
After placing the block in a place you don’t want to lose (at the base or in the village), you need to take the compass in your hands and click on the magnetite. The compass will immediately start to shimmer with a purple glow, and its red arrow will always point to the magnetite block attached to it.
If you destroy the magnetite that the Magnetized Compass is attached to, or if you go to another dimension, the needle will begin to spin chaotically.
- Tip : You can use the anvil to rename the compass (for example, call it “Home” or “Village”) to make it easier to build your own navigation.
