Character History

The story of the bear tribe representative is interesting, to get acquainted we suggest watching the video:

Basic characteristics

Ursa is one of the hyper carry heroes in the game, with her skillset including slowing down enemies, speeding up her attacks, and survivability with her ult. The most notable is her passive third ability, which allows her to apply a negative effect to enemies and increases each subsequent hit.

At the start of the game, Ursa has the following characteristics:

The character takes time to deal a lot of damage, as the base attack speed and agility gain are relatively average. Ursa beats absolutely any hero 1 on 1 due to her passive.

Aspects of Ursa

GRUDGE BEARER

While Enrage is active, whenever you take damage, your attack damage against enemies is increased.

BEAR DOWN

Negative statuses inflicted by the character last longer on enemies.

Ursa skills

MAUL

An innate ability that passively increases attack damage based on your current health.

EARTHSHOCK

The character performs a somersault jump in front of himself, dealing damage and slowing enemies.

EARTHSHOCK (Aghanim’s Shard)

Jumping applies the Ultimate effect for 1.4 seconds.

OVERPOWER

While enraged, gains increased attack speed from hand and also increases resistance to slows.

FURY SWIPES

A passive ability that is applied to an enemy as a debuff. Each subsequent hit on the enemy deals great damage. The effect wears off after 8 seconds if the enemy is not attacked.

ENRAGE

Removes all negative effects and increases resistance to any type of damage.

ENRAGE (Aghanim’s Scepter)

The ultimate can be used during a stun, additionally reducing the ability’s cooldown.

Ursa’s Talents

Ursa’s talent tree looks like this:

Standardly, pumping goes along the right branch, except for talent 20, where it is worth taking the left option. But it is always worth remembering that matches are different and there is variability.

How to upgrade Ursa skills

The screenshot below shows the order in which you should upgrade your skills:

Purchase/Assembly Ursa

Always remember that item purchase is situational in each game. Most often, the right aspect is taken, but the build is no different if you choose the right one, it looks like this:

Previously, character builds through magic were popular, or more precisely, through the imposition of a negative status and survivability.

Who to take Ursa against

Ursa is worth taking into the team when a strong carry is needed and the game plans to go into the late game. He will also show himself well against fat heroes. For example:

  • Pudge;
  • Underlord;
  • Tide (Tidehunter);
  • Primal Beast;
  • DK (Dragon Knight);
  • Timber (Timbersaw).

Thanks to its passive ability, slow characters with a lot of HP are an easy way for us to stack the passive.

At the initial stages, it may be difficult to make a kill, since the low level of skill level will not allow us to quickly eliminate enemies. But if the team has supports with a stun or root, for example, Shadow Shaman or Crystal Maiden, then the intended action is possible.

You can kill Roshan early enough and join the team in lane clashes.

Counter pick Ursa

Try not to take Ursa against heroes with slows or a lot of stuns, as they will be able to easily kite you and you will never catch up to them and kill them.

  • Bristleback;
  • Ogre (Ogre Magi);
  • Viper;
  • Broom (Venomancer);
  • Ricky.

Always keep in mind that stuns and slows are your worst enemy. You are low-mobility, you can’t quickly run to the enemy. You are not so afraid of physical or magical damage because of your ultimate, but immobilization and the inability to hit are much worse.

Problematic heroes in this case could be:

  • Shaman (Shadow Shaman);
  • CMka (Crystal Maiden);
  • Broom (Venomancer).

Ursa Gameplay Tactics

This character is only on the easy lane, as it requires the help of a position 5 support. According to statistics as of November 2024:

  • In over 81% of matches with Ursa in the safe lane – 50% win rate.
  • Offline takes just over 9% and the win rate is 49%.

At the start of the game, your main task is to finish off creeps. Try to avoid enemy spells and not die. Do not provoke a fight yourself, watch the actions of the support. As soon as the opportunity arises, you can connect and defeat the enemy hero with joint efforts.

Even if you get a tough enemy, try to get Battle Fury and Morbid Mask. After that, you can safely go to the forest to farm other slots. But do not forget about the team and help them if possible. With these two items, you can kill Roshan, and then destroy several objects on the map.

On the lane, you can help the support by pumping the first skill. By slowing the enemy and dealing damage to him with your hand, you will most likely be able to kill him.

If you are left alone with the enemy, you can definitely defeat him. Use your second ability, wait a little while for its cooldown to recover, and attack the enemy with the jump of the first skill. Deal a few blows, and when the second ability is ready again, activate it again – this will allow you to defeat the enemy. If you feel that you can’t handle it, use the ultimate, and victory will be yours.

Having farmed the required number of items, you should already be playing with the team and killing all enemies in sight. Break in on a Blink Dagger and try to kill the supports first, as they have a low health indicator. If you are faced with a Ghost Scepter or Eul’s Scepter of Divinity, take Nullifier, it will allow you to remove these effects.

Next target the fattest enemy and hit him, the damage will be distributed among all if you have BF (Battle Fury). This way you will deal damage to everyone at once and will be able to finish off the survivors.
