All Villagers and Their Professions in Minecraft

Discover the different professions of villagers in Minecraft and how they can help you in your gameplay. Learn about each villager and their unique skills and trades.

Villagers in Minecraft are harmless, friendly mobs that live in villages. A cottage village with strangely chuckling peasants can be found in 5 biomes: taiga, tundra, plain, savannah, desert. They can master any craft and trade with players.

All Villagers and Their Professions in Minecraft

The appearance of busy villagers is different: new accessories and textures appear. If a mob walks in simple clothes, it has no profession and can be trained. One profession block gives work to only one peasant.

Interesting facts

  • You can change the profession of a resident – delete the old workplace and put a new one. For example, replace the department with a loom: instead of a librarian, a shepherd will appear.
  • It is impossible to make a wandering trader out of a mob, because it is a separate species that does not have a permanent place of residence and appears randomly throughout the world.
  • Robbery and attacks on the village negatively affect the attitude of artisans towards your character. Prices will be higher. If you give gifts, the villagers will love you. If you successfully repel a raid on the village, you get the effect “Hero of the Village”, which temporarily reduces prices. Healing a zombie villager gives an eternal discount with this character.
  • If you don’t have enough “working hands”, you can grow a new generation of mobs. Leave bread in chests near the beds of peasants so that they multiply.

Peasant

  • Profession block : no, and cannot be
  • Sells : nothing
  • Buys : Doesn’t even try

This resident is called a beggar, unemployed and a simpleton – just like your neighbor Vaska, who is 25 and still lives off his parents. But unlike Vasya, this NPC has an excuse: he appeared in the game because of a bug that the developers decided not to fix, but to turn into a feature. These bugs became his feature:

  • cannot trade or acquire a profession;
  • ignores the village bell;
  • goes to bed later than everyone else;
  • when you right-click, it just shakes its head, without saying “hee”.

Peasants can be found in generated villages or by curing zombies from a zombie village. In Bedrock Edition, there is a 10% chance that a child villager will grow up poor. Still, there is a use for a simpleton – he can breed poverty, in other words, reproduce.

Beggar

  • Profession block : no
  • Sells : absolutely nothing
  • Buys : he’s a beggar, where does he get the money?

Oh, poor thing! If there was a top of the saddest characters in the world of Minecraft, this mob would take first place. He has no job, not even a carrot to his name. Such a resident is easy to recognize by his clothes, he has no professional attributes.

It’s easy to turn a villager into a beggar: just destroy his work block or never give him a profession. Congratulations, you’ve just created another unemployed person! He can’t bargain, of course, but he can wander around the village and mumble “hmm”.

To help this unfortunate fellow, place any work block next to him, and he will immediately master a new profession. But for now… let him wander.

In this guide, we have collected all the important information about the professions of residents on one page: crafting work blocks, ways to change professions, trade levels for each profession. Write in the comments, which professions of residents in Minecraft seem to you the most important?
