Where to Find Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring

Looking for the powerful Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring? Discover the secrets to finding this weapon and enhancing your gaming experience.

Elden Ring is an action/RPG game developed by Japanese company FromSoftware. It was released in 2022 and has become one of the most popular games in its genre. One of the key features of the game is the variety of weapons and fighting styles that players can use in combat.

What is the Blasphemous Blade

The Blasphemous Blade is one of the most powerful two-handed swords in the game. Its specialty is its ability to “vampire”, that is, to inflict damage on the enemy and simultaneously restore the owner’s health.

he Blasphemous Blade has a devastating skill, Rogue’s Flame, which could rival Moon Veil if it were a little faster. This sword is a real treasure worth taking a risk for. But it is much more difficult to get than the same magical katana. In the fight for the weapon, you will have to show all your skill and courage.

To obtain the Blasphemous Blade, you must defeat Blasphemous Lord Ricard, Lord of the Volcano Estate and demigod of the Mount Gelmir region. Head west from the Altus Plateau, this is the shortest route to your objective. Cross the Bridge of Injustice and climb the stairs until you reach your destination.

Pass the Beast of the Falling Star and head to the Vulcan Estate. Then go down north through a series of caves. At the end of the path, you will find yourself on the outskirts of the estate. You will have to defeat the Divine Skin Aristocrat (the thicker part of the boss of the two enemies). Continue down until you reach the teleportation device.

Once you pass through the portal, you will find yourself in a cave deep beneath the mountain. Here, a boss awaits you, surrounded by a golden mist. Through it, the God-Eater Serpent can be seen. After its death, the terrifying visage of Praetor Ricard will appear before you. He will extract the legendary Blasphemous Blade from the throat of his snake.

For defeating Ricard you will receive the “Blasphemer’s Memory”. Take it to the Finger Reader at the Round Table. When creating a weapon from the memory, you will be able to choose one of two options – and it will be the Blasphemous Blade.

Blade effects

To make the Blasphemous Blade a truly formidable weapon, you need to invest a lot of points in Strength and Faith. This sword increases damage thanks to Strength, Dexterity, and Faith – all of which are on the D scale without any upgrades. Faith increases spell damage the most, while Strength and Dexterity increase damage from normal physical attacks. The main advantage of wielding this sword is its skill.

Flame of the Rogue

When you use the skill, the character raises the sword above his head, sets it on fire, and slams it into the ground. This creates a powerful wave of flame. When it hits enemies, it restores 10% of the character’s maximum health and adds 150 health points.

Blade Stats

Since the Blasphemous Blade is designed to be used with a greatsword, its best stats match the minimum requirements for wielding that weapon. To use the Blasphemous Blade, you’ll need at least 22 Strength, 15 Dexterity, and 21 Faith.

Given the required combination of Strength and Faith, we would recommend the Spiritualist as the best starting class in Elden Ring. This is due to its high Faith and stable Strength and Dexterity values. However, since the Blasphemous Blade cannot be acquired until after the boss, you will likely gain the required stats over a long period of time, regardless of which class you choose.

Once you’ve maxed out the stats needed to use Blasphemous Blade, we recommend investing additional points into Faith, Vitality, Intelligence, and Fortitude. While the sword’s base damage increases with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, focusing on Faith will increase the damage of the Rogue’s Flame weapon skill, as well as empower your prayer.

Vitality is important so that you have enough health to withstand enemy attacks. Fortitude will provide you with stamina and allow you to carry more gear, which is useful considering that Blasphemous Blade is quite heavy. It is also recommended to add a few levels to Intellect so that you have enough Focus to use Rogue’s Flame and not have to use Flasks of Azure Tears as often.

Weapon options

Seals

In addition to Blasphemous Blade, we recommend adding some Prayers to your build. For this, you will need one of the best Elden Ring Holy Seals in your off-hand.

It is recommended to use the improved Seal of the Tree of Erd +10 due to its impressive Faith buff. Luckily, this seal can be found while exploring Vulcan’s Estate. Start at the Prison City Temple Grace Site, go down to the burning bonfire through the gate, and find the seal held by a corpse in a cell guarded by an Omen Slayer. You will recognize the powerful enemy by his dual jagged blades.

Prayers

There are a few prayers that synergize well with the Blasphemous Blade build:

  • Golden Vow – Increases the character’s attack and defense by 15% for 80 seconds.
  • Flame, Grant Me Strength – Increases Physical and Fire damage by 20%. This effect stacks with the Golden Vow effect.

These two prayers together increase Blasphemous Blade’s attack and weapon skill damage. You can find Golden Vow on your way to Vulcan’s Estate, in the Corpse Smell Shack at the foot of Gelmir Volcano. And Flame, Strengthen Me can be found behind Fort Gael in the Starry Wastes.

Armor

There are no strict requirements for a specific armor type for this build, as the main focus is on the sword itself. Light armor is best, as it compensates for the weight of the blade and allows you to quickly dodge attacks. It should also provide additional faith to increase the power of the weapon.

The best armor option with Blasphemer is the Holy Tree Knight Set. To obtain it, you need to defeat the Holy Tree Knights during the battle in Elfael, on the way to the boss Malenia, Michela’s Blade. The helmet from this set is located separately, near the place of grace “Elfael’s Inner Wall”.

The Holy Tree Knight Set is not only a medium armor, but also increases faith. As a result, you will be strengthening both Blasphemous Blade and your prayer.

Talismans

There are several talismans that can increase the effectiveness of a build with this blade. They increase the fire damage of the skill “Rogue’s Flame” and reduce the consumption of concentration points, allowing you to use the skill more times without having to replenish magical energy with Flasks of Azure Tears.

The number of talismans you can equip is dependent on your progress in the main quest. This means you won’t be able to equip all four recommended talismans for this build until you’ve reached the endgame. But regardless of how many you can equip, the following talismans will help make your Blasphemous Blade build even better:

  • Alexander’s Shard is a talisman that can only be obtained after completing Alexander’s Iron Fist quest. Its specialty is to increase damage by 15% against mobs and bosses.
  • Fire Scorpion Amulet – Found on the upper level of Fort Layed near the Helmir volcano. The talisman is useful for its increased fire damage, which is equivalent to physical damage in our build. Due to the blade skill, this buff will be ideal.
  • Carian Filigree Crest – Reduces skill usage costs by 25%. In the context of the build, the crest makes the skill more accessible, allowing you to use it more often before you need to restore your Focus Points bar. You can purchase the Carian Filigree Crest from the military advisor Idji. Defeat the tracker knight Darrivil and the desired NPC will appear in the west of Lake Liurnia.
  • Ritual Sword Talisman – While your health bar is full, this talisman will increase your strike power by 10%, further increasing the damage of the blade and its skill. It can be obtained from a chest in the Ruins of Lux on the Altus Plateau, after defeating the location’s boss – the demi-human queen Ghilika.

Blasphemous Blade is the best weapon if you play through Faith. It also takes pride of place in the top most powerful ones, thanks to its skill and healing. But there are also disadvantages: if the enemy has a high fire resistance, the sword is useless. In PvP mode, the skill shows itself poorly, since the attack is easy to avoid.
