How to snooze notifications on an Android smartphone

First, you need to enable the feature in the operating system settings. Here’s how to do it:

  • On Pixel phones : Settings → Notifications → Allow snoozing notifications.
  • On Samsung smartphones : Settings → Notifications → Advanced options → Show snooze button.

How to postpone a notification:

  1. Click on the button with the alarm clock icon in the card with the required notification.
  2. The notification will be automatically postponed for one hour.
  3. If you want to choose another period, click on the arrow next to it. The options are 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours.
  4. All that’s left to do is collapse the notification curtain – the delayed push will disappear.

The function is not available on all third-party shells. In some systems like MIUI and Realme UI, the “snooze” appears when you hold your finger on a specific notification. You don’t need to activate anything in advance.

If you have postponed a notification but want to return to the content before the selected deadline, use the “Notification History” section. It also needs to be enabled first – read the instructions on our website.

The iPhone’s stock Messages app has a feature called Snooze Notifications. It’s not quite the same as Android’s snooze feature, but it serves the same purpose — though for all SMS and iMessage conversations, not just specific messages.

There is a high probability that the function will not help, but rather irritate. But if anything, you can enable it in the Settings app in the Notifications section → Messages → Set up notifications → Repeat notifications.

By the way, there is a similar option in Telegram for Android. It is activated here: ≡ → “Settings” → “Notifications and sounds” → “Repeat notifications”.
