Addus COO Departs; CenterWell Names New President Of Home Solutions 

Heather Dixon leaves Addus, Brad Bickham steps in as interim chief operating officer

Heather Dixon, chief operating officer of home care services provider Addus HomeCare Corporation (Nasdaq: ADUS), has left the company after serving as president and COO since September 2025.

“[Dixon] has been an important member of the team, and we are grateful for her partnership,” Dirk Allison, CEO of Addus, said in a statement. “We also appreciate her commitment to our mission, which will continue in her absence. We wish her the best in her next chapter.”

Before joining Addus, Dixon served as chief financial officer of behavioral health provider Acadia Healthcare and as COO and then chief financial officer at primary care provider Everside Health.

Former president and COO Brad Bickham has agreed to step back in as COO on an interim basis for one year, effective Aug. 10, according to an Addus release.

Bickham played key roles in growing Addus’ personal care platform, expanding the company’s home health service arm and helming key acquisition strategies, Allison said.

Frisco, Texas-based Addus HomeCare provides in-home care, home health and hospice throughout 264 locations across 24 states.

CenterWell names Casey McKeon president of home solutions

CenterWell, a healthcare services business under the American health insurance giant Humana, named Casey McKeon president of home solutions.

McKeon will lead Humana’s home care strategy, operations and growth for CenterWell Home Health, OneHome and the company’s home care model, a company spokesperson told Home Health Care News in an email.

Previously, McKeon served as general manager of government business strategy and operations at health insurance firm Cigna, president and general manager of the value-based care platform CareAllies and held two director roles at Humana, according to his LinkedIn.

CenterWell provides primary care, home health and pharmacy services for older adults across 350 locations and 37 states.

HarmonyCares appoints new COO and chief financial officer

HarmonyCares named Tom Xu as COO and Manu Kuppalli as CFO as the company ramps up its next growth phase.

Xu previously served as chief administrative officer for Oak Street Health, a primary care network acquired by retail drugstore chain CVS in a $10.6 billion deal in 2023. Kuppalli most recently served as CFO of virtual opioid use treatment company Bicycle Health.

“We are excited to bring in leaders with deep expertise to lead the organization through our next chapter,” HarmonyCares CEO Matt Chance said in a statement. “Tom’s proven ability to scale operations and drive performance and Manu’s track record in financial strategy and operational leadership will strengthen our ability to expand access while building the infrastructure needed to support our teams and long-term growth.”

Troy, Michigan-based HarmonyCares provides in-home primary care services across 12 states. The company rebranded from the name U.S. Medical Management in 2022.

Denis Fleming Jr to serve as chief government affairs officer of National Alliance for Care at Home

The National Alliance for Care at Home (the Alliance) has tapped Denis Fleming Jr. as its chief government affairs officer.

Fleming has previously served as the senior vice president and legislative counsel for state and federal affairs at Optum Home and Community Care Delivery/LHC Group and held a similar role at home care provider Almost Family, Inc.

Fleming will help shape policies affecting home-based care, which will include directing legislative and regulatory teams and collaborating with policymakers, industry stakeholders and grassroots networks, according to the Alliance.

“[Fleming’s] deep policy expertise, extensive experience in advocacy, close relationships on Capitol Hill, and dedication to strengthening Americans’ access to care at home will be invaluable to the future of the Alliance and advancing the policy interests of our members,” Alliance CEO Jennifer Sheets said in a statement.

The Alliance is an advocacy group focused on home care, hospice and palliative care. It formed in 2024 through a merger of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Rachel Vaughn to serve as Always Best Care’s chief marketing officer

Always Best Care Senior Services appointed Rachel Vaughn as chief marketing officer.

Vaughn will spearhead Always Best Care’s marketing, branding strategies, customer experience and marketing technology experience while working closely with the company’s 115 franchisees, according to the company.

Vaughn previously served as CMO for salon suite rental company Salon Lofts. She held senior marketing leadership roles at companies including salon suite platform Sola Salons, franchising company WellBiz Brands, haircare services provider Floyd’s 99 Barbershop and restaurant franchise Smashburger, according to her LinkedIn.

“As we continue to grow, we wanted a marketing leader who understands franchising, knows how to build brands at scale and shares our commitment to helping franchisees succeed,” Always Best Care President and CEO Jake Brown said in a statement. “Rachel brings that experience along with a genuine passion for our mission, and we’re excited to welcome her to the leadership team.”

Rocklin, California-based Always Best Care provides in-home care, home health and other specialized care for older adults throughout 150 locations across the United States and Canada.

Maxim Healthcare promotes Matthew Diaz to COO

Maxim Healthcare promoted Matthew Diaz from vice president of behavioral health to COO.

As COO, Diaz will guide strategy and growth for Maxim’s home care and behavioral operations service lines, bolster the company’s expansion of Maxim behavioral services into home-based and clinical settings and advance technology initiatives, according to the company.

“Over the past two decades, he has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to our mission, never losing sight of quality patient care,” Maxim Healthcare CEO Jarrod DePriest said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of the way he has led our teams and confident his vision and leadership will help guide Maxim into our next chapter.”

Diaz held various roles at Maxim from 2002 to 2016, before moving to AccentCare where he served as regional vice president, according to his LinkedIn profile. He then rejoined Maxim in 2017, according to his profile.

Columbia, Maryland-based Maxim Healthcare provides home health, personal caregiving services, support for military and federal families and behavioral therapy services across 42 states.

Kevin Rogers retires as VNA Health Group COO and CFO

Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group COO and CFO Officer Kevin Rogers will retire on Dec. 31, 2026.

Rogers first joined the VNA Health Group in 2005 as vice president and CFO, a role he held until 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile. He went on to serve as the senior vice president and chief administrative officer at Visiting Nurse Service of New York and CEO at Care Finders Total Care before rejoining VNA Health Group in 2018.

“Kevin has been one of the most trusted and respected leaders in our organization for many years,” Christopher Rinn, president and CEO of VNA Health Group, said in a statement. “His leadership, strategic insight and commitment to our mission have positioned VNA Health Group for long-term success.”

VNA Health Group, based in Neptune, New Jersey, provides home health care, private-pay personal care services, children and family health services, hospice services and visiting physician services. The company was founded in 1912 and primarily serves New Jersey.
