Always Best Care Senior Services names new chief financial officer

Always Best Care Senior Services has appointed Jason Shontz as its CFO.

Shontz most recently served as vice president of finance for The Joint Corp (Nasdaq: JYNT), a chiropractic franchisor. He is charged with fostering sustainable franchise growth while prioritizing franchisee financial health.

“Jason brings the combination of financial discipline, franchise experience and strategic perspective we need as Always Best Care continues to grow,” Jake Brown, president and CEO of Always Best Care, said in a statement. “He understands that strong system growth starts with healthy franchisee economics, and he knows how to build the financial infrastructure that gives both leadership and franchise owners better information to make decisions.”

Shontz has a direct connection with non-medical in-home care, as his father relies on these services.

“I have seen firsthand what in-home care means to a family,” Shontz said. “For my father, it is not a discretionary service. It is essential to his care, his independence and his quality of life. That personal experience is a major part of what drew me to Always Best Care.”

Rocklin, California-based Always Best Care provides non-medical in-home care, senior living referral services and skilled home health services in select markets. The company’s franchise network includes 295 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

VNA Health Group confirms new CFO

Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNA Health Group) has named Scott Carmosino its CFO, effective Oct. 9.

“Scott has earned the trust of our leadership team and Board through more than a decade of sound financial leadership, thoughtful counsel and a deep understanding of our organization,” Christopher Rinn, president and CEO of VNA Health Group, said in a statement. “Throughout the search process, it became clear that his experience, judgment and knowledge of both VNA Health Group and the healthcare landscape made him the right person to lead our financial strategy into the future.”

Carmosino is charged with overseeing VNA Health Group’s financial strategy, including budgeting and forecasting, regulatory compliance and long-term financial planning.

Carmosino is taking over as CFO from Kevin Rogers, who announced his plans to retire in July. Rogers is expected to remain with VNA Health Group full-time through the end of 2026 and as an advisor through early 2027.

VNA Health Group is a nonprofit provider of home- and community-based services in New Jersey.
