In this article, we’ll go on a quest to find collectibles hidden throughout the game’s magical world. Collecting Demimask Moons is worthwhile not only for the achievement itself, but also to level up your Alohomora.
Keep in mind an important detail right away: some items are located behind doors that are inaccessible to you early in the game. Some of them require a higher Alohomora level, so you won’t be able to complete the entire collection in one go. As you progress through the story, you’ll gain access to new areas and can return to collect any figurines you missed.
How to level up Alohomora
Players will definitely need Alohomora to embark on a short adventure in Hogwarts Legacy . As we know from the films and books, this spell is necessary for picking locks.
You’ll first encounter the Demimask Moon during a quest given by Mr. Moon. Why is it so important to know the locations of these items and collect them? They’re related to leveling up Alohomora. The principle is simple: find the figurines, return to Mr. Moon, and give them to him.
There’s another rule that’s easy to forget. You should only go on the so-called item hunt at night. If you’re exploring all the designated locations during the day, don’t leave right away. Just rewind time on the map. The screenshot above shows how to do this.
All figurines
It’s more convenient to collect Demi-Mask Moons gradually. Some are available almost immediately after acquiring the Lockpicking spell, while others require level 2 or 3. The locations of Mr. Moon’s Hogwarts Legacy Moons are explained below.
Search Hogwarts
There are 10 statues hidden within the castle itself, which can be found separately from those encountered during the story-related quest. Finding the items will be much easier if you follow the instructions below carefully. The spell level that will help you complete the search will also be indicated.
Statuette 1
The easiest place to start is Professor Fig’s office. It’s important to come here at night. The moon is right inside the office, so you won’t even need to use a spell.
Statuette 2
Head to the Volatile Flame in the Clock Tower Courtyard. After teleporting, turn around and exit through the nearest door. Follow the passage to the area with the diagram on the wall, then go down the stairs.
At the bottom, turn left. At the far end of the corridor, on the left, is a restroom door. Go inside and open the central stall. Behind the destroyed wall, you’ll find a small room. You can pick up the statuette there.
Statuette 3
Move to the central part of the Great Hall and walk forward a little. Inside, stay to the right, as there’s a door with a level 1 lock there. Open it by holding your wand and waving it, then examine the room. You’ll see the Demi-Mask inside, near a chest.
Statuette 4
In the Library Annex, you need to climb almost to the very top of the tower. There you’ll find a vertical staircase leading directly to the Divination Classroom. Climb up to the office and go to the far end. The Demimask is inside the classroom. You won’t need to use a hacking spell this time.
Statuette 5
The next statue is hidden near the entrance to the library’s restricted section. You can get there via the Volatile Flame, which serves as a fast travel point to Hogwarts Legacy, or by the regular route.
Find the grate behind which the stairs to the restricted section begin. Go down and follow the corridor without turning until you find Luna. Take her.
If you get lost, activate Revelio to highlight the item you need.
Statuette 6
Teleport to the North Exit of Hogwarts and immediately turn around. Follow the large wall on the left until you see a staircase. Hidden under the staircase is a door with a level 1 lock. Open it and take the statuette. Don’t rush off, because you can find equipment here. Take a few minutes to explore.
Statuette 7
Use the Volatile Flame again in the Astronomy Wing, but this time after teleporting, head left. Go past the large statue to the massive door. Then turn right and find a staircase going down. It will lead you to the basement
Continue forward to the dragon statue, then turn right and almost immediately left. Here you’ll find a locked room with a level 1 lock, where your so-called reward awaits.
Statuette 8
Head to the Beast Study Room. The building is locked, so simply entering won’t work. You’ll first have to open the door on the right with a level 2 Alohomora.
Inside the room you’ll find several useful items: the Demi-Mask Moon itself, a chest with equipment, and a letter from Ellie Kluvs.
Statuette 9
Return to the Transfiguration Yard and find the double doors. Beyond them lies a large staircase. To the right of the stairs is another door, but this time it’s locked with a level two lock. Use a spell to enter, then collect the collectible inside.
Statuette 10
Head to the Potions classroom and exit through the double doors into the hallway, turn left, and go down the spiral staircase. At the bottom, notice the door to the left of the faculty locker: it’s locked with a level 1 lock, so open it first using your wand
Once in the next section, continue down the corridor. The first door on the left will be locked with a level 2 lock. Open it and go inside to collect Luna. This concludes your Hogwarts adventure. I’ve broken down how to collect all the figurines in this location.
Search Hogsmeade
Although this place is much smaller than the castle, you can find a fair number of Demi-Masks here. A total of nine can be collected in the village. Most of them are accessible without a high-level Alohomora, but a few require a second-level spell.
Don’t forget that we walk and look for all the figurines only at night.
Statuette 1
The first statue is located in the Tomes and Scrolls shop. Go inside and walk behind the merchant, where his bedroom is located. The Demimask Moon is located right there.
While you’re at it, you might want to check the area around the house: there’s a chest nearby containing an eye. To open it, first activate the Disillusionment Spell.
Statuette
From the previous location, head down the alley and turn left, and you’ll soon reach a dead end. This is where the Boar’s Head pub is located.
Once inside, head immediately behind the bar on the right. In the utility room, you’ll see some boxes with the Moon you need on them. You don’t need to break the door.
Statuette
At the entrance to the Three Broomsticks Inn, turn left and take the stairs to the left of the building. Climb them and find the side entrance to the inn. Continue to the second floor. There’s another staircase leading to the attic. The door is locked with a level 1 lock, but Alohomora will allow you to quickly open the passage. You’ll find the item you need there.
Statuette 4
Exit the Three Broomsticks and follow the road to the right. Next to the inn is a tall building with a locked front door. Use a first-level spell and go inside. The statue is on the second floor
Statuette 5
It’s much simpler here: head to the Invisibility Cloak clothing store and enter through the door on the right. Inside, pay attention to the area next to the merchant you sell your unwanted items to. His apprentice has a table in front of him, and on it is a Demi-Mask. Again, you can get there without magical dissection.
Statuette 6
Find the house on the map next to the “Sweet Kingdom” candy store. The entrance is locked with a level 1 lock, so you can’t get in without Alohomora.
After breaking down the door, go inside and explore the room. The statue is on a table under a portrait of a man. But don’t leave right away: if you walk around the outside of the house, you’ll see a chest containing an eye.
Statuette 7
Get to the Beak and Crest shop and stop before the bridge—you’ll see a small house across from you. The entrance is locked with a level 1 lock. Destroy the lock and take the Moon.
Statuette 8
From the Tomes and Scrolls shop, walk up the street and turn into the alley on the left. Opposite Ollivander’s, you’ll see two locked houses. Pay attention to the one on the right. Its door has a level 2 lock, so you’ll need an upgraded Alohomora to access it.
Inside, go up to the third floor to pick up the statue, then look into the room to loot the chest for gear and gold.
Statuette 9
The last Demi-Mask Moon in Hogsmeade is hidden in the building between the potion shop and the joke shop. You’ll need a map, as the building is marked there. Go to the entrance.
The door is protected by a level two lock. Cast the spell, then go up to the second floor. The statue is next to a large chest.
Northern part of the map
Outside of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, Luna’s Demi-Masks are also scattered throughout small settlements. Typically, you have to look for them in houses, some of which are locked, but that’s hardly a problem with the well-studied Alohomora.
Statuette 1
Travel to Pitt-on-Ford using the Volatile Flame or fly here on a broom. Near the fast travel point is a large two-story house. Go inside, climb up, and collect the statuette.
Statuette 2
After teleporting to Upper Hogsfield, pay attention to the houses to the left of your arrival point—the second one is the one you need. The door is locked with a level 1 lock. Once you’re inside, grab the Moon.
Statuette 3
Travel to Aranshir by any means convenient. There’s a two-story house practically next to the flying flame. Break open the door with a level 1 Alohomora and head up to the second floor—the moon you need is there
Statuette 4
There’s another statue hidden in Lower Hogsfield, and you don’t even need to pick the lock to get it. After teleporting, turn around and look at the one-story house near your arrival point. The door is open, so just go inside and grab the collectible
Statuette 5
The fast travel point will take you almost to the right place. Nearby is a small one-story house with an open door. Just go inside and take the statuette.
Statuette 6
Look for a two-story house on the hill at the top of Kinbridge. The door is locked with a level 1 lock, so use Alohomora first. Inside, search the area under the stairs. The Demi-Mask Moon is on a crat
Statuette 7
After teleporting, turn the camera to the right: not far from your arrival point, you’ll see a small house with an open door. No extra steps required, just grab it, enter, and pick up the item you need
Statuette
Teleport to Feldcroft and turn the camera slightly to the left. Behind the well is the house you need, which has a level 2 lock, so you’ll need a high-level Alohomora. Inside, look for the Demi-Mask Moon.
Stop by to open the two chests and loot them
Southern part of the map
Statuett
Travel to Marumvim and head to the central part of the village, where the required house with a level 1 lock is located.
Open the door and examine the room – the statue is hidden on the left, behind a large cabinet.
Statuette 2
From the previous settlement, you can travel to Beinburg on a broom or use Volatile Flame. In the center of the village, find a house with a round roof and an outbuilding. Inside, you’ll need to open the door with a level 1 Alohomora. The moon is next to the chair
There’s also a large chest here with a random piece of clothing, so after you get the collectible, you might want to check that out too.
Statuette 3
Go to Cragfort and find the large tree in the center of the settlement—there’s a merchant’s shop next to it. To the right of it is the house you need to enter. Go up to the second floor to find the final statuette
This article showed all the locations of the Demimask Moons. Level up your Alohomora gradually, follow the instructions, and you’ll be able to complete the entire collection.
