In 2021, to mark our 10th anniversary, we announced a referral contest for our consultants with a new Tesla as the grand prize. Today we’re thrilled to announce that Kendy Valbrun, a Contact Tracer and team lead in Massachusetts, is our contest winner. (Play the full video above to see his heartfelt reaction).
Kendy’s Story
Kendy joined our us last year to support clients who require contact tracing through our Healthy Returns practice. In his role, he reaches out to COVID-positive individuals and their close contacts, providing valuable health and safety information. He was motivated to pursue contact tracing after experiencing family hardship early on in the pandemic.
“My mom, who’s 68 years old, was in and out of the hospital with COVID. Then, in January 2021, she went into cardiac arrest. But, thank god, we still have her with us today. She is the reason why I wanted to do this, so I can reach out to as many people as I can to give them the information they need,” shared Kendy.
His love for helping others was a “perfect fit” for the contact tracing position, says Kendy. His personal commitment toward supporting loved ones and the community contributed to him being the top referrer in the contest.
“It is so hard to find a job that appreciates you. I see how much [Healthcare It Leaders] cares and pays attention to detail and all the hard work. I have a tight circle of friends, and we try to uplift each other. Whenever someone says they need a job, I’m always ready to help,” reflected Kendy.
Most of Kendy’s referrals during the contest have since started positions with Healthcare IT Leaders, including his fiancée who also works as a contact tracer. In addition to his new Tesla, Kendy earned a promotion this month to Lead Contract Tracer.
