After the opening scene of Alone in the Dark (2024), you will need to choose a game character. The main differences are unique episodes, due to which you will receive several completely different cut-scenes, learn more about the backstory of a particular hero, and also be able to collect different gifts (that is, some collections cannot be completed in one playthrough). There are also less significant differences – in some cases, the sequence of actions slightly changes, there are different combinations for the same safe, and the standard cut-scenes, including the final one, differ, although the whole point of the game remains the same. As soon as you make your choice (and for the completeness of the picture, you will still have to go through both heroes), you will get to the Derceto garage. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Chapter 1
Turn the corner to the left and look for a flashlight in the pen – go up to it and press the indicated key to pick it up. Turn on the flashlight by pressing the V key. You will also receive the Kitchen Garden Key. Exit the pen and go left. Go through the doorway and turn right – there will be a door at the far end that you will automatically open with the Garden Key (simply interact with the E key). Go forward and go up the stairs on the right to get to the garden (yes, you used the “Garden Key”). There is nothing to do here right now, so go through the garden and through the door on the far side. Look for a broken vase on the right – the Housekeeper’s Key is next to it. Turn around and look at the steps. To the right of them there are steps going down and a blue door that can be opened with the Garden Key. But first, go up the stairs and turn left to find a box with random loot. Go down the stairs and interact with the blue door that opens with the housekeeper’s key.
After entering, look to the right. There are several shelves with loot in the side alcove. Go forward to the fork. First, enter the open room on the right and take the family bible from the bed (hint) . Let me remind you that one of the achievements involves collecting all the hints (notes and drawings that, when examined, will say “Hint” and not “Key item” or “Present”). Exit the room, go through the door on the right to get to the kitchen. Hold down the TAB key to highlight all the interesting places, go around the room and collect the loot. Be sure to look into the side room. In the corner, among various supplies, look for your first gift – Rat poison .
When you’re ready, head through the open door at the far end of the kitchen. You’ll come to a hallway with a servants’ staircase. Head right first and go through the metal gate. The second Tram Ticket present is on the shelves ahead . Check the rest of the room for loot and examine the locked grate (it’ll be marked on the map when you get it). Exit the wine cellar the way you came in, turn right and follow the hallway past the kitchen door. Go through the second door on the left. Here you can pick up the Sabotage clue and examine the cauldron – we’ll solve this puzzle in the future, but for now, head back out into the hallway and look around the corner for a door leading to a staircase.
Head up the stairs to the first floor of the house. There will be a locked door on the left side, so turn around, go into the nearby bathroom and collect the loot. Look in the next room to Lottie (the orderly) and find Lottie’s Diary near the bed (hint) . Grab the item, check the chest at the base of the bed, then examine the locked medicine box on the table – you will be able to open it much later. Most importantly, take the Derceto Floor Map hanging on the wall opposite the bed. You can now open the map by holding the I key. You will also get the Landing Key, which was hidden behind the map. Exit Lottie’s room and go left. Interact with the locked library door, then go through the white door that opens with the Landing Key. Go through the balcony to the far door and you will find yourself in the foyer by the stairs. Before reaching the far front door, go to the first door on the left, which leads to the reception desk. Take the Picayune Post newspaper (hint) lying on the table and the seal (present) from the reception desk. Once you’ve finished your inspection, return to the foyer by the stairs and go to the next door opposite the steps. A cutscene will begin. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Jeremy’s room
Once the cutscene is over, you’ll find yourself in the room of Jeremy Hartwood, Emily Hartwood’s uncle. You need to find some clues, but if you’re interested in the Chatterbox achievement , you should already talk to Edward or Emily (depending on who you’re playing as) first. Ignore the large dresser – you can’t do anything with it yet – and instead head to Jeremy’s journal on the far table; Jeremy’s notes contain clues to several puzzles. You’ll also get a painted tile. Now you can return to the closed box on the dresser and interact with it. Move the puzzle pieces around to form a complete picture.
New Orleans
You will have any problems with opponents only if you decide to play the game on a high difficulty level. Even on medium, there are enough resources to not bother and fight off all the mobs without problems. In addition, you can save on ammunition by simply running past enemies. Go out of the balcony, find loot on the right, leave the room, go down the stairs and go out into the alley. Your first enemy will be on the right side. First, go left and hold the TAB key to find loot. There is another enemy around the corner on the left. First, aim with RMB and destroy the first enemy, and then carefully approach the corner or quickly run past to avoid the second mob. On a high difficulty level, it takes about 5 shots from a pistol to kill such an enemy. Go through a small courtyard to the next alley, which will lead you to a wide street. Go to the fog on the left, hold down TAB and collect loot. Search the trash cans. Turn around and walk down the street to the far store. Note that you can sprint by pressing the Shift key once. The store is fairly easy to find, as it’s the only lit spot on the block – there’s a trash can with loot across the street from the store.
Interacting with the shop door will trigger a cutscene in which you’ll meet Baptiste. Once the cutscene is over, you’ll receive Baptiste’s keys, which will allow you to open Miss Jackson’s apartment and two rooms in Derceto (the receptionist’s office and the library). Grab the saved reptile (present) from the table and check the nearby chest for loot. For the Chatterbox achievement, be sure to go behind the counter and talk to Baptiste. When you’re ready, exit the shop the way you came, turn left from the doorway, and go left at the intersection. You can optionally look into the alley on the left and pick up your first melee weapon – but doing so will spawn an enemy – on Normal or Hard difficulty, that pipe probably isn’t worth it. Press F to melee (hold it down for a heavy attack). We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Continue down the street past the alley. Press Left Ctrl or C to sneak and move along the left curb. You’ll soon come across a throwable brick – hold the key to pick it up, keep holding until you’ve aimed, then throw it. You can throw the brick to the side to distract the enemy, or throw it directly at the enemy for minor damage. Collect the loot, then proceed through the gate on the left using Baptiste’s keys. An autosave will occur here, so if you fail to get past the enemy, just run to the gate, open it, and continue forward. You can die, and after a reload, the enemy will no longer be here.
After passing through the arch, you will find yourself in a courtyard. Go to the middle of the courtyard and look to the left, where there is a closed gate. After a few seconds, an enemy will knock it down (as soon as you get close enough). You can throw throwing objects at him, including a Molotov cocktail. To do this, check the wall to the right of the gate. The first enemy burned will give you a unique achievement. One enemy will be on the steps, and the other is located slightly higher, around the corner to the right.
Deal with them, go up the stairs and look to the right to find a stool with juju (present) . Go forward, enter Jackson’s apartment and take the talisman from the table. Open Jeremy’s diary to see a hint with a code. Use the talisman and enter the code 358. The nearest door will open slightly. Enter it to return to Derceto, watch a cutscene with Dr. Gray and complete the first chapter.
Chapter 2
Returning from New Orleans, Edward (or Emily) will come to the conclusion that Jeremy is hiding in these otherworldly dimensions. To find him, you will have to solve several puzzles in Derceto and visit even more strange locations … And all in order to find the mysterious place from Jeremy’s notes – Taroela.
Once you gain control of your character at the start of Chapter 2, you can enter the Administrator’s Office using Baptiste’s keys. If you haven’t done so yet, pick up the Seal (present) from the reception desk. Once in the Administrator’s Office, turn right. Find 3 notes (“Boiler Repair”, “Broken Plates” (hint) , and “Employee and Patient Information” (hint) ), as well as the key to Room 6. In the far part, look for the “Rorschach Test” (present) and the patient file (hint) . There is a locked safe in the same place, but you can open it in Chapter 4. On the other hand, the safe contains the secret present “The Curse of the Hartwoods” – “Alone in the Dark” . To open the safe, turn the handle counterclockwise to 9, clockwise to 1, counterclockwise to 3. After searching the administrator’s office, you can go to the library, which is behind the platform (balcony) connecting the two wings. Once at the door, use Baptiste’s keys. If you play as Emily, a cutscene will start, and the girl will meet Ruth. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Don’t forget to talk to Ruth three times ( for the “Chatterbox” achievement, you need to talk to each character you meet at least three times ). Go through the next door to the small gallery and pay attention to the shotgun in the box on the left. If this is your second playthrough, you may be able to pick up the weapon (if you collected 3 gifts from the “Missing Children” collection in the previous playthrough). Otherwise, you can do this later, after returning from the Oil Rig. Try to open the glass door on the right so that the room is filled with dark colors. Bolt cutters will appear in the far part. Use them to cut the chain. Go through the winter garden to the open garden near the kitchen and use the bolt cutters on the wooden shed on the right. Having received the hose, open the water tap located around the corner, go to the pit with a broken plate and connect the hose from the shed with the hose lying on the ground. You will receive a broken plate. To the right, in the pit lies a mummified cat (gift) .
Also, be sure to interact with the wooden stairs to create a shortcut to the landing between the two wings of Derceto. And if you’re playing as Emily, first return to the small gallery where you met Ruth to get the book “A Light in the Distance” (present) . If you’re playing as Edward or already a second time through the game and you have this present, just go up the stairs and enter the foyer near the stairs and the main entrance.
Go up to the second floor and enter the hall on the left, where there are three living rooms. Jeremy, Baptiste and Perosi live in them. When you enter this hall, you will see a cutscene with McCarthy. Return to Jeremy’s room and take the drawing “Emily is here” (hint) . In the next room, which belongs to Baptiste, look on the nightstand on the left side for an ink pen (present) . Finally, use the key to room #6 on the third door on the left to get to Perosi’s room. Take the note “I must return” (hint) from the bed , then examine the six portraits with rot, pick up Perosi’s diary and pay attention to the portraits of the artists of Astarte. The chest of drawers on the right is locked with a lock with the signs of the Zodiac. Rotate all the paintings so that they have black rot (not gray). If you can’t interact with the paintings, then you did everything correctly. Then remember the names on the paintings from left to right – William Arge, Franklin Mosig and Nora Keith. Find these names on the large vignette and remember their numerical values. Open Perosi’s diary and match these numbers with the signs of the Zodiac (the numbering goes clockwise, like on a clock). Put these symbols on the lock – Pisces, Libra, Taurus. If everything is done correctly, you will find the second broken plate. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.

Hateful Mound (Oil Rig)
Once in the new region, drop down to the right and reach a large barn with a raised bridge. You can’t lower it without a lever, so open the door on the left side and search some lockers. One of them will contain the Pier Key. With this key, return to the first building, go inside and open the far door. This path will lead you to a room with a lever. After grabbing the item, quickly run back to the barn or kill the new enemy type if you want. You can see it moving underground, following the tracks of dug up soil. Before it jumps out near you, dodge to the side with Space. You can fight it or run past it into the barn. Get to the bridge. Luckily, these enemies can only move on the ground. Set the lever, lower the bridge and cross to the other side. Climb up to the attic and go to the far part, but don’t rush. Before you approach the open doorway, notice the small hole on the right, closer to the corner. It leads to a wooden box with a magic palette (present) .
After the cutscene, deal with the enemies, search all the buildings in the area if you want, and then use any melee weapon to break the boards in the passage on the left side. Cross the wooden bridge and look around. There is a passage between the houses on the right that leads to the oil rig, but instead, run to the pier on the left side first. There will be a narrow passage behind the house on the right. Move there, go around the building and look inside another hut to get a staring statue (present) .
Exit the hut and go back the other way. Collect the loot from the other hut and move towards the oil rig. In this area, you will have a choice: you can either crouch and sneak past the enemies, or run to the desired goal. Keep in mind that the enemies moving underground only sense you when you are moving on straight legs (walking or running). Run forward, left and find a lever to pull. Quickly climb the building, cross the beam and climb the rig using another ladder. Go around, pick up a sturdy rag and interact with the taut rope to go down a little further. Take the only route through the swamp, reach the mound and enter the cave to see a cutscene with Lottie. This will return you to Derceto. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Derceto
Once you regain control of your character, examine the floor, find the bag from the cutscene and interact with it to get a palette knife, a living room key and an important note. You can immediately use the palette knife to open the door to the guest room, which contains the “Barlow Lens Manual” (hint), a cellar key and a dog collar (present) . When you leave the living room, if you have collected all the presents from the “Missing Children” collection (seal, ink pen, dog collar), you can take the shotgun from the cabinet. Go to the library, try to leave it through the far door and return to the door to the small gallery. The room will be covered in black rot, and you will have to kill two enemies. After you destroy everyone, you can exit through the door to the servants’ corridor. Climb the stairs and use the palette knife on another door with a wedge (the tool will disappear). Go to the end of the second floor to another door. It will be locked, but you will be able to remove the “Do Not Disturb” sign from the door handle (present) . After opening the door with the palette knife, first open the door opposite to create a shortcut to the second floor hall with the rooms of Baptiste, Jeremy and Perosi, and then go through the double door on the right, to the mezzanine. If you are playing as Edward, this is where he will meet Ruth, and it is here, on her table, that the book “A Light in the Distance” (present) will later appear , if you did not pick it up in the first playthrough. Also go to the left part of the mezzanine and pick up a beignet (present) from the tray on the nightstand , and then be sure to open another door, creating a shortcut to the same hall with the apartments on the second floor. Then go to the other side of the mezzanine and through the door go out to the stairwell (a large spiral staircase).
Go down one flight of stairs and enter the large living room, above which is a mezzanine. If you play as Emily, you will see a unique cutscene in which Grace injects the girl with a syringe. After that, you can pick up the syringe (present) from the floor, near the piano, and take the key to the medicine box from the musical instrument itself. Look at the door to the left of the piano to get to the dining room. In the fireplace is a clue “On the Ordinariness of Evil” . Exit through the door on the left to return to the corridor with the servants’ stairs. Look into Lottie’s room and open the locked medicine box with the key to get Dr. Jenkins’ lozenges. In addition, you can close the window in Lottie’s room to pick up the nurse’s watch (present) from the windowsill . We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
The window with the sill in Lottie’s room where the nurse’s watch will appear.
Then head to the living room on the second floor. If you’re playing as Edward, be sure to return to the mezzanine to pick up the “Distant Light” present , a book left by Ruth. Go to the hallway behind the mezzanine and return to the astronomical clock. Opposite the second floor hall is the living room door. Open it to see a cutscene with McCarthy if you’re playing as Emily. The first door on the right leads to Grace’s room. Inside, look for the “A Small Favor” clue and the “Jack in the Box” present . To get it, simply interact with the box, then wait until the clown’s head stops dangling and pick it up. Go to the next door on the right to get to Cassandra Beauregard’s room. Here, Edward will meet Grace (a unique cutscene for the character). After that, the “Your Cure” clue will appear on the table , as well as a vial of Magrave Ointment.
Next, you need to solve a puzzle related to a tray of medicines and another lock with the signs of the Zodiac. You need to place the vials with medicines so that you get a black snake. And on these vials from left to right, the numbers 2, 5, 7 will be visible (there will be nothing on the third position on the vial).
Lafayette Cemetery
As soon as you enter the Lafayette Cemetery, you will see a bench with loot. Check out all the benches in the cemetery to find even more loot. On your way through the cemetery, you can visit the Hartwood family tomb or go left immediately. At the fork, you can turn right to find a chest with ammo, but then a monster will appear. If you go left, you will find a statue. Remove the Blessing icon from it and use it on the door on the right side. Turn it so that your fingers are pointing up. The icon will return to your inventory. After solving the puzzle, go through the door, but be prepared for an attack by a monster. After destroying the mob, go up the stairs and examine the chapel. The door cannot be opened yet, so you should go left to find a hole in the fence.
There’s some loot at the fork on the left, but then you’ll have to go right. Kill the enemies in the water, which move normally, although Emily or Edward are slowed down. You also can’t dodge in the water. Next up is a section that resembles the area in front of the oil rig. You can either take a stealth approach or just run past the enemies. Either way, there’s a crack in the wall on the other side that you’ll have to squeeze through to get to the next clearing. Immediately look to the right to find a hole you can crawl through and grab some extra loot, guarded by a lone mob. Back in the area with the statue in the center, check the area around it, then drop down into the crypt through the opening on the left or right. Both paths lead to the same place and are connected to each other, so it doesn’t matter which way you end up going. Eventually, there’s a statue in the tunnel below with another round plate, but you’ll also be attacked by an enemy. Return to the statue above, and a powerful monster will knock out the grate, breaking out of a previously closed crypt. Destroy it and another enemy that will come from the previous crypt, then enter the resulting opening. Use the stairs to go down into the dungeon. At the very end, look for a door on which you need to install two plates. The hand should be below, and the bird – above. Next, navigate by the semicircles around the holes and on the round plates themselves. The fingers should be pointing up, at the bird, and the bird’s head – at an angle to the right and up.
Next, you will find yourself in a tunnel. Move through it until a huge number of monsters appear. Just run forward, dodging enemies until the chase is over. Eventually, you will find the third statue with the third round plate. From the statue, turn right, but do not rush to climb the ledge to the stairs. On the left hand side, look for a crack in the wall leading to a well-hidden niche. In it, you will find a present – notes . Exit the dungeon using the stairs. If you go to the right, you will find a closed crypt, but behind the bars you will see the corpse of Cassandra Beauregard. This does not give anything, but it is still an interesting detail. Return to the chapel and install all three round plates. At the top there will be a hand (fingers up), at the bottom right – a bird (head up), and at the bottom left – a lamb or some other animal (head up). There should be solid rings in the center. Open the door and watch the cutscene with Jeremy. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Chapter 3
At the beginning of Chapter 3, you’ll meet Jeremy’s friend, who you made up yourself. And in general, you’ll find yourself in a place called Taroela, where Jeremy hid from nightmares. Once the cutscene with Juan is over, you can talk to him additionally if you’re going for the Chatterbox achievement, and then be sure to aim at the man for another achievement (any NPC will do). When you’re ready, turn around and go around the corner to the left. Open the door to enter the library. Go through the first room to the hole in the floor and jump down. Continue along the broken hallway, go around the hole in the floor, then climb up the ledge and go through a small crack in the wall. You’ll find yourself in a room with a small pool. Go up the stairs to the right. You’ll see a small pedestal you can interact with – remember its location, as you’ll need it later after getting the key item. In the meantime, turn the corner to the right and follow the bookshelves, go to the right and find a stand with the book “The Great Library” (hint).
Go past the table and around the bookshelves, then go up the stairs. On the third floor, look for a hole in the wall covered with leaves near the steps. Crawl through it to find a present – the Evil Revealed mask . Return to the main hall and go forward to the statue holding Hubert’s key. As soon as you take it, the Black Pharaoh will appear, and you will have to avoid encounters with him. When the cutscene ends, immediately turn around and interact with the pedestal on which you need to place Hubert’s key. A staircase will appear, and you can go down to the second floor. Do not even try to shoot the Dark Man, since in this case your character will shoot himself. Although there is an additional achievement associated with this action, so try it once! We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Run past the stairs with steps that you climbed earlier, turn left to see the Dark Man. Just press yourself against the wall on the right, and the Dark Man will pass by. He is not chasing Edward or Emily, but is moving along a strictly defined route! Move on, to the pedestal that you saw at the beginning. The Dark Man will appear again, but he will be behind the bookshelves on the right, so you run along the left side. Use Hubert’s key on the pedestal and climb the stairs that appear.
Move along the upper floor, go around the Dark Man, pressing against the railing on the right. When you enter the doorway and look to the left, you will see a pedestal, but a Dark Man will appear next to it. Run in the opposite direction. The Dark Man will follow you, but will stop shortly before the end of the corridor with tables and chairs. Then he will turn around and leave. You run to the room with the pedestal, use Hubert’s key and go upstairs. Go to the elevator and examine the book under the glass case. After the cutscene, you will return to Derceto, talk to Ruth (video), and then find yourself at the Pregtz shipping company. In addition, you will automatically receive a gift from Ruth – a matchbox .
There’s another Dark Man at the top of the stairs to your right, but he’s easy to avoid by hugging the right side. There’s a doorway ahead – the pillar is visible through a hole in the wall, but it’s guarded by another Dark Man. Go through the door and turn left – you’ll see a Dark Man between you and the pillar. Wait for him to “activate” and start spewing fog, then go back through the doorway and wait for him to pass by. Once he’s through the door, you can go back, go left, use the pillar and go up the stairs. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Pregtz Shipping Company
Once the cutscene ends, you’ll find yourself in front of the Pregzt Shipping Company building. You can’t get through the front door, of course, so don’t bother trying. Instead, look around the truck on the right, where there’s a patrolling mob. There are some throwables behind you, including a Molotov cocktail, so use them to take care of this and other enemies. Then, head towards the small building behind the truck. Beware of the enemy, who will break down the door as you approach it. Again, there are plenty of throwables and melee weapons nearby, which will save you some ammo. Take out the mob and loot the building, making sure to grab the New Orleans Docks – Pier 11 map (hint) from the wall . Then, exit the building and go around the cargo boxes to find yourself behind the building. Go past the locked door and up the stairs to the roof, where there is a hole you can use to get inside. Examine the door locked from the inside and get the stevedore key from the box. Go outside, but be prepared for a couple of enemies to appear. Go forward, past the barrels and boxes. The path to the right along the dock leads to the crane control panel, but first look for boards on the left that lead to a dead end. There is a present there – an ink ribbon .
Go to the crane control panel and use the stevedore key. You will remove the cargo blocking the path to the sewer, but three regular enemies will rise from there. Two more will also appear from the side of the building where you found the stevedore key. Kill them all or run past. There are also throwables nearby, which are important to use to save ammo.
Follow the sewers, killing enemies and collecting supplies, and go up the stairs to the end. Thanks to this, you will get inside the very building of the Pregtz shipping company management, the front door of which was locked. Inspect the first floor, collect supplies and find a blowpipe to the left of the closed door. This is the gift “Severed Horn” . After that, you can go up the stairs to the second floor of the warehouse and go to the office. Inside it, on the chest of drawers on the left, look for a Tommy gun submachine gun. In the chest of drawers under it, there is a clue “All his things” . Find a safe at the end of the office, which you need to open. If you play for Edward, the chest of drawers in which the clue is located may be inaccessible. If this happens, you need to check other clues. The key to solving the puzzle and finding the code is hidden in the note “All his things”. Go to the safe, turn the handle counterclockwise to 4, once clockwise to 5 and once back counterclockwise to 4. You will receive a cargo manifest (hint) , which will also continue the task, since you learned the correct address. We continue the passage of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
You can leave the office. Do so. After you go down the stairs and approach the exit, the door will be knocked down, and there will be mobs lying around in the warehouse. There are many throwables around, but you can also go up the stairs to thin out the herd. Leave the warehouse and run through the gate to the street, where the house you need is across the street. By the way, the monsters will not follow you through the gate. Before entering the house, look into the side yard on the right and take the poster “Behold the Black Pharaoh” (gift) from the wall .
Collect the rest of the loot, head up the stairs and open the door to watch a cutscene with Jeremy. Once the cutscene is over, you’ll have to solve another puzzle. This time, you’ll have to do the opposite of how you did when looking for the combinations to the locked dressers in Perosi’s room and Cassandra Beauregard’s apartment. There’s a picture on the floor with three zodiac signs highlighted. Match them with the numbers using Perosi’s hint to get the code 258. Use the talisman on the sarcophagus and enter this code, then follow the corridor until you reach the desert.
Desert
When you’re ready, follow the illuminated path. You’ll need to press the key to drop down from the ledge with the red paint (or blood…). Continue along the path and you’ll soon come to another well-lit area with a hole in the sand. There’s nothing you can do yet. Instead, continue past the hole and down the slope to the next illuminated area. On the far side of the bonfire are two chests and, more importantly, a rope. Grab the key item and loot the chests – the chest next to the rope contains the clue “Beyond the Nile Valley” . Now you can return to the hole you passed earlier and interact with the stone pillar. Note that you’ll need to be on the side facing the hole to do this. With the rope attached, approach the hole and press the key to drop down into the buried temple. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
After the cutscene ends, you will find yourself in an ancient Egyptian temple. Walk around the perimeter of the room to collect the loot and the canopic jar (present) .
After that, pull the lever on the left side of the statue. This will open the door on the right, but be careful – when you approach the already open door, large scarabs will fly out. One shot from the pistol is enough to kill them. Be prepared to dodge. Go through the opened doorway, go up the stairs and enter a small room. Sneak under the column to enter another small room with no exit (for now). There is loot in the chest. Pull the lever, get the lens from the chest and place it on the stand. Aim the beam at the blue crystal above the door to open the exit. After solving the puzzle, you can go through the opened door. Climb the stairs to get to a fork in three directions. You can go left, straight ahead, or up the stairs. You will have to solve another mini-puzzle to open the next door. And you can open it the same way as the previous one – this time you don’t even have to look for the lens! Go left to the balcony with the stand and lens. Aim the beam at the crystal above the door on the opposite balcony. But be careful – as soon as you move the statue a little, scarabs will appear. You can burn them with the beam of light, but it is difficult. After killing the enemies, continue moving the beam of light to the right and aim it at the blue crystal at the other end of the room on the opposite balcony. After solving the “puzzle”, you will need to get to the opened door. Go back the way you came, past the stairs and turn left at the wall. Then turn right and go down the stairs.
You’ll come to a crossroads with four directions. The doors to the left and right are barricaded, so head forward first to find a large stack of melee weapons along with other loot. Grab the new melee weapon, then head back to the crossroads and turn left. Destroy the barricade with melee attacks, then turn left and enter a small room. There’s some extra loot here, but there’s also another simple puzzle to solve. Once again, you’ll need to pull a lever and direct a beam of light to a specific location. Pull the lever on the wall, then interact with the statue. Shine the light on the eye-shaped crystal on the nearby chest to open it. Inside the open chest, you’ll find another Star Lens. We continue our walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru — for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Exit the room with the chest and head forward – at the opposite end of the hall is another barricade that can be broken with melee attacks. You will create a shortcut to the main hall where you appeared earlier. Now you need to find a use for the Star Lens you recently found. Turn around from the door you just opened with a melee attack, turn right and go up the stairs you came here on. At the top, go left, then immediately go up the stairs on the right. Move to the statue and place the Star Lens on it. But beware that more scarabs will appear nearby. Try to kill them with a beam of light or use another weapon. Then point the beam of light at the blue stone above the door to the right of the statue. Remember the door you opened earlier with melee attacks? Turn around and move there. Go down the stairs on the left, then move left. First, go down the stairs on the right, then turn left at the crossroads to enter the main hall. Turn right and head towards the door you just opened. Around the corner on the left, just past the doorway, are two enemies. Once you’ve dealt with both, continue down the stairs ahead and look for a barricaded doorway to the side. Fight your way inside (if you don’t have a melee weapon, you can find one in the room further down the hall). Then loot the items, pull the lever, and aim the beam at the blue crystal in the hole. Exit the room and head into the room on the right, where you’ll find a statue with a beam of light shining through its lens. Interact with it and aim the beam at the blue crystal on the chest to open it – inside the chest, look for another Underworld Key Item.
With the next lens in hand, go back the way you came, down the long hallway and up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, turn right and go up another set of stairs, where you can destroy the boards and open a new door. You’re now back on the balcony where the first statue was. You need to use all three statues (including the one activated by the Underworld lens; read below) to aim three beams at three blue crystals on the giant Pharaoh’s crown. Do this (put the last lens on the statue on the balcony to the right, where you aimed the beam from the first statue). Then go around the room in a circle, along the upper floor, to find the passage to the crown. In the niche to the right of the passage to the crown, there’s a present called Children of the Dark Sun . Direct the beam from the crown down and run the only possible way back to the main hall. Interact with the cache to complete Chapter 3 and watch another cutscene. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Chapter 4
Returning from the Ancient Egyptian Temple, you will find yourself in the attic, where you will talk to Edward/Emily. When the cutscene ends, you will find yourself at the top of the spiral staircase, just outside the attic doors. A new key item has appeared in your inventory – the Dark Man’s contract. Scroll through all the pages to view the document. Next, you need to get to Dr. Grey’s office. To do this, you will have to open the safe in the administrator’s office to get a spare key to Grey’s office. However, before you do this, let’s collect a few additional hints and gifts. Follow the path to Dr. Grey’s apartment by going up the stairs from the servants’ corridor, examine the locked door to get the “Do Not Disturb” sign (gift) . You can also find 5 clues : “Madness in Astarte” (in the library), “Preparations for the Nativity of John the Baptist” (Lottie’s room), “Trust Me” (Baptiste’s room), a note “To Detective Carnby” (if you play as Edward, in Jeremy’s room) and “Keep Our Secrets” (near the door to the basement with the kitchen on the side of the winter garden).
Go down the two flights of spiral stairs to reach the doors of the great hall with the fallen piano. Opening the door will trigger a cutscene featuring Baptiste and Lottie. When it ends, turn left, go through the living room and open the doors leading to the dining room. Leave through the other door to reach the servants’ corridor. Open the door to the toilet to find the Broken Glasses (Gift) in the sink . After that, look in Lottie’s room, where the clue “Preparations for the Nativity of St. John the Baptist” is on the table. Exit Lottie’s room, go up the stairs and go to the door at the end of the corridor. It may take a few tries, but you will be able to grab the “Do Not Disturb” sign (Gift) hanging on the doorknob of Dr. Grey’s apartment. Go down the stairs and through the door to the library. On the bookcase in the far right corner you can find the clue “Madness in Astarte”. Turn around and go through the door to the small living room. On the chair on the left side lies the present “Opera Playbill” . Then turn around and go through the door leading to the winter garden. Go down the stairs and turn left to the stairs leading to the basement with the kitchen. Here lies the note “Keep our secrets” (hint). We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Then go into the garden. Go up the stairs and then through the door at the end of the landing. On your left is the door to the Administrator’s Office. Before you enter here, first head to the second floor. To open the safe in the Administrator’s Office, you need to go upstairs and find the correct combination. Once you do this, enter the living room. A cutscene will start with McCaffrey and Grace. After that, you will either automatically receive the key or you can pick it up from the floor, next to McCaffrey (Emily) lying down. Taking the key, you will be able to get into Cassandra Beauregard’s room (the second door on the right). On the left side, in the typewriter, there is a hint “Cassandra’s Last Page” (which contains the combination to the safe in the Administrator’s Office; it is also in the Dark Man’s contract) and a present “Script” . Afterwards, go to the hall with the apartments on the second floor, in Jeremy’s room look for the clue “Detective Carnby” , and in Baptiste’s apartment – the clue “Trust me” .
Go down the stairs and enter the administrator’s office. Open the double doors on the left to find a gift on the green sofa – a postcard “Flying Dutchman” .
Enter the Administrator’s Office behind the Administrator’s Window. This is the room you opened earlier with Bastist’s Keys. Once inside, go around the corner to the safe. Using the notes you found, you can determine the correct combination. Apparently, this combination is indicated not only in the Dark Man’s contract, but also on Cassandra’s last page. Either way, turn the handle counterclockwise to 9, clockwise to 1, counterclockwise to 1. Once you open the safe, you will find the key to Dr. Gray’s office, as well as a note “Empty Room”. You can also take the key from another door to get into Dr. Gray’s office. Once inside, take two notes, the key to the stairwell, and the “France” badge. With the last badge, go up to the second floor, enter the living room on the right and use it on the globe to get a gift – a map of the Caribbean . You will pass by this place if you play for Edward, but Emily will not have another opportunity. We continue the passage of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Now you need to go down to the Derceto basement. Open the door to the hall on the first floor with the key received from McCaffrey. At the end of the corridor, a Dark Man will appear, pointing to the same empty room from the note. You can’t get there yet. Although, playing as Emily, I was able to immediately enter the room and open the safe, having received a flash, but the second room along the corridor (belonging to Ruth) was locked, and I still had to deal with the x-rays in the basement. When playing as Edward, the empty room will be closed, but you will be able to get into Ruth’s room. In general, there is no point in all these actions right now. So, enter the first room on the left. McCaffrey lives here. At the end of the room there is a ventilation grate, which you cannot open right now. Behind it, you will later find a key item – a picture for a puzzle in Grace’s room (only when playing as Edward). There is also a note on the dresser on the left » 17), because there is a vent at the end of the room that you will want to open later (Image 18). For both characters, you can get the note “Moment of Eureka” (hint) . At the same time, Emily needs to enter the second room on the left (may be locked before passing the basement), which belongs to Ruth. Once inside, examine Ruth’s dresser and find a photo from the war (present) .
Once you’ve explored both rooms, an event will occur that will cause the Great Living Room to transform into a Jazz Club. Go to the end of the hallway on the first floor and open the door on the right, which usually leads to the Great Living Room). While here, be sure to go behind the bar and pick up the Clinking Shaker (Gift) . After that, you can exit the Jazz Club through the door located on the opposite side from where you entered. Now that you have the Staircase Key from Dr. Grey’s Office, you can use it to open the gate and get into the basement. From here, you can go down the stairs and open the red door leading to the Isolation Ward. Immediately look to the right to pick up the Scapegoat (Gift) from the gurney. Proceed down the hallway, enter the door on the right, at the very end, and pick up X-Ray #1. If you’re playing as Emily, she’ll briefly see a mountain of corpses filling the room. Once it’s over, pick up the X-ray, exit the room and go through the open door on the other side to get to the X-ray room. There are 2 clues on the table ahead – “Notes on X-ray” and “Last resort”. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Proceed into the next room and take the electrical fuse from the table on the right – note the electrical panel on the wall. Then take X-ray #2 and the OR Key from the stand under the X-ray display. Go back the way you came and in the hallway use the OR Key to enter the door behind which Jeremy’s voice is heard. Inside, there is a record player on the floor. Interact with it to take the second fuse. After that, you can return to the room with the X-ray display and install both fuses in the junction box. Move the levers in the following order: 1, 2, 4. If something goes wrong, just press the Reset button. Once the power is restored, you can interact with the X-ray display to begin solving the puzzle. Place the indicated X-rays in the correct places on the display. Rotate #1 90 degrees to the left, rotate #2 180 degrees, and rotate #3 about 45 degrees to the left. There should be a double brain section at the bottom, and two far right shots at the top left and top right.
Once you’ve solved the puzzle, you’ll get the key item “Jeremy’s Darkness”. Now you need to head to the attic. This is easy to do, as there’s nowhere else to go. Go back the way you came, opening the red door to return to the spiral staircase. Then go up the stairs – you’ll have to squeeze through narrow openings or break through barricades with a melee weapon. When you reach the locked door, turn around and walk along the boat to continue climbing. At the top of the stairs, you’ll be able to go through the door to the attic. Once in the attic, take a good look around. There’s another puzzle and loot ahead, slightly to the left, but first head right and around the corner, next to the bust on a small table, look for a mosaic piece (present) . If you have collected the entire collection of gifts “The Curse of the Hartwoods”, you can interact with the loop to see a secret cutscene with Jeremy and get the achievement “Meta Ending”. After that, go to another part of the room and examine the box with the puzzle. First, add a part of the statue “Darkness of Jeremy” to the puzzle, then move the pieces to get a whole picture. Then you can interact with the statue to apply the talisman. On the inner walls of the open box is a code – enter 641 to complete the puzzle. We continue the passage of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
After solving the talisman puzzle, you will remain in the attic. Behind you, there will be a place where you can jump. In fact, you are on a steamer. After a short conversation with Jeremy’s disembodied voice, go through either the exits on the right or left and find a suitcase with loot. Then continue through the interior of the steamer. Go through the vine-covered room, and soon you will come to a doorway on the right that leads outside. Enter the new room and get your weapon ready, because when you approach the drink on the table, an already dead monster will fall into it, and then another one will run. If you do not finish off this spider quickly, it will cling to the hero. These mobs will appear in different parts of the steamer and seem to require as many bullets to kill as the standard enemies you have been fighting since Chapter 1. They can jump on you and grab you, in which case you will have to quickly press the “Space” (in the settings you can turn off the mechanics of quickly pressing the key). After dealing with the enemy, go past the gaming tables and turn into the doorway on the right.
There are two sets of stairs ahead, one going up and one going down. Take the stairs going down first, turn the corner to the right and go through the red double doors. There’s a Broken Compass present on a crate by the door and some loot on the far side of the small area. Grab it all, then head up the stairs. Back on the middle deck, continue up the steps and take the stairs to the top deck of the ship. The left side will be blocked off, so take the right side, then turn left and head up a couple more steps in the middle of the top deck, in front of the captain’s cabin. There’s a large ship’s bell in this area. Behind the bell is a red lantern and a hole you can use to get back into the ship’s interior. You’ll need to stand on the side to find an interactive point. Once you’re down, use the Explore button to collect the loot. Check the corner opposite where you jumped because a spider will drop from the ceiling after a while. Kill the mob and go through the nearby doorway to find the Pale Mask present lying on a red chair. Take the mask, return to the previous room and unlock the door on the left. Go outside and turn right to find the stairs again. Return to the upper deck where the bell is, and this time cross it and go down the opposite stairs. Before turning right, look left and pay attention to the lifeboat, which you will have to return to a little later. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Continue along the side to another small ladder – you can go to the bridge to kill the enemy and collect the loot. But in general, you need to go left. Go to the open door on the right; go inside and search the cabin. Go back, go right, further along the deck. You will come to another door on the right – go inside and search this place. Grab a new melee weapon before leaving through another door. Turn right and go to the large curved structure – go down the ladder and use a melee weapon to break the damaged boards. Go through the hole that has formed and go down two ledges, then squeeze through a narrow gap on the left.
You will get to the engine room, where you can find loot. Then take the empty gasoline canister from the right crate, interact with the small valve to shut off the steam supply through the pipe. Climb the ladder and use the empty canister on the fuel tank to fill it with fuel. Go down the ladder and interact with the power generator. Use the fuel canister, then pull the lever on the right, starting the generator. Go back through the gap through which you got here, climb up the two ledges and run back to the lifeboat. There will be quite a lot of enemies in the next section – I will tell you where they are, but you can try to run past them, dodging in time, and get to the lifeboat mentioned earlier. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Head up the stairs and grab the Molotov cocktail on the left. Throw it at the nearby spider. Go through the doorway on the left, finish off the spider, and exit the cabin to the other side of the deck. There’s another spider around the corner, and a second one is waiting in the room with the open door on the left. Behind them, down the steps, are two more enemies, the last obstacle before the lifeboat. Get on the lifeboat and press the button to lower it. Ignore the enemies crawling up the side of the steamboat, as they won’t attack you. When the boat stops, go through the doorway, drop down the ledge, loot the items, and climb up the other side. Turn left and deal with the two enemies – the second enemy will come out of the left door. Deal with both (there’s a Molotov cocktail on your left) and then enter the engine room. Go around the room to collect the loot, then interact with the engine to complete the current task. Incidentally, you can simply run past the two enemies in front of the engine bay and interact with it.
Now return to the 1st floor hallway opposite the administrator’s office and go inside. Since you have already visited this corridor with Ruth and McCaffrey’s apartments, you should have already examined the first two rooms, receiving different things depending on the game character. The further route will be unique depending on who you control – Edward or Emily, but in any case, you need to go to the empty room, opening the last door on the left at the end of the corridor. Once in this room, be sure to pick up the Indigo Ash (present) by the window on the right. It lies on the fabric-covered furniture. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Edward
In the empty room, the wallpaper on the left wall is peeling off. If you tear it off, you will find a series of cryptic messages, some of which must be used to figure out the password to the locked safe. You will notice that among the messages there is one that indicates the number # 196XXX-LA. XXX are the numbers associated with the combination to the safe, but in order to determine the necessary values, you will have to go to your inventory. The very first item is the license of private detective Edward Carnby, which is called “Edward Carnby, Private Detective”. The ID number is # 196694-LA. By filling in the blanks, you will be able to determine the code to the safe – turn the handle counterclockwise to 6, clockwise to 9 and counterclockwise again to 4. You will receive a Picayune Coin. Using the item removed from the safe, you will be able to unscrew the bolts on the ventilation grill in the McCaffrey apartments, at the beginning of the hall on the first floor. Go to the far corner of the room and use the coin to unscrew the lid and get the drawing.
Back in the hall, you will see that Derceto has changed again. The stairwell now resembles a bay. You need to cross this new area and go up the stairs, but be careful of the monsters on the lower floor, as well as the flying scarabs that will appear from above and constantly attack you. Once you are at the top, destroy the boards blocking the way to the living room, continuing to fight off the scarabs. Luckily, there are plenty of melee weapons around. After breaking the boards, you can enter the safe living room, and then – Grace’s room, located behind the first door on the right hand side. There is another puzzle to solve here. In order to correctly align the drawings, you need to navigate the traces of black rot left on each of them. The drawing in the center does not rotate or swap places with anything. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Correct placement of drawings:
White Building | Red Building | Girl in a Hat
Boat with sails | Nothing | Car
Monster | Bridge | Tree
Soon you will find yourself in Edward’s office in New Orleans. Edward needs to remember something. Let’s find out! First, you need to take the desk key from the small table next to the couch, and then the papers lying on the desk. Use the key to pull two papers out of the drawer. While you do this, interact with Edward’s ghost to listen to a monologue before moving on to the puzzle. After that, go to the board behind the desk. Place all three clues (one was lying on the desk, the other two were inside the drawer), then flip the leftmost and middle clues. This will complete the puzzle and the red strings will be connected.
Once you’ve dealt with the clues, a red thread will stretch from the board that leads through the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Since the path is fairly straightforward, there’s no point in focusing on it. Leave the office, go down the stairs, and out the door onto the street. Go right, turn left along the street. There’s an alley on the right that you should enter. If you need ammo, take your time and rummage through the trash cans. You’ll encounter another ghost trying to kick down the door leading to the art dealer. Interact with it, and after the monologue, go inside and up the stairs to encounter another ghost standing in front of a painting. Once you’ve examined it and listened to the monologue, a monster will burst out of the wall on the right. Deal with it and go through the hole in the wall. Go out onto the balcony and down the stairs back onto the streets of the French Quarter. On the flooded street, you will be ambushed by many enemies. Go around or kill them, and at the fork, move right, through the tram car to find yourself on the other side (you can close the door behind you). Enter the park on the right, move forward to the statue until you see a wrecked car on the right with another ghost of Edward. Interact with it. While you are listening to the monologue, two opponents will appear. Eliminate both before a more powerful monster appears, which will knock down the park gate. After killing it, go forward through the gate, collect supplies and enter the St. George Hotel. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Look at the wall on the right. There is a cabinet with a present – a curious napkin . Then go behind the reception, interact with the ghost and collect various loot. There may also be a bill for the rented room. Having collected all this, go up the stairs to the third floor and enter the nearest room to see another part of the memory. Collect all available evidence and apply it to the map lying on the floor. This time, you can not only rotate, but also swap the evidence. In the far left corner, place a hint related to the Thornhill Gallery, in the middle, place a flyer from the St. George Hotel, and on the right – an advertisement for Derceto. Then rotate to get a complete picture (there should be information about $300 and $350 on the left and in the middle).
As soon as you leave the room, you will find yourself in Port River. There is a bridge next to the hut, which is where you need to get to. Turn right outside and follow the path under the bridge until you reach a fork. Go left to the ruined hut, where you can find the Blasphemous Totem (Gift) . Keep in mind that you will immediately be attacked by the first enemy. After taking the item, go back and take a different route to find yourself on the bridge. Talk to Grace to remember what happened in Edward’s past and how the girl is connected to it. After talking to Emily, you will have a task: save the girl and her father from a sinking car. To complete this task, you first need to raise the bridge. Go to the opposite end of the bridge from where you came from and climb the stairs. Approach the building in the center of the bridge, then go inside and pull the lever to raise the bridge. The bridge will begin to rise, but will soon be stopped. Looking outside, you will see black tentacles that have bound the bridge and are blocking its movement. There are three of these vines, and you need to destroy each set, with flying scarabs appearing in any location each time a vine is destroyed.
After destroying all three vines, head to the opposite end of the bridge from where you climbed (the side facing the door of the house in the center) and go down the stairs. Head to the destroyed stairs and jump down. Be aware that in addition to the scarabs that will surround you, you may also be attacked by an underground mob. Look across the street from where you jumped earlier and find another drop. It leads back to the hut you came out of after solving the map puzzle at the St. George Hotel. Go to the moored boat and interact with it to try and save Grace and her father. After the cutscene, you will return to Derceto and meet Emily, after which the rude housekeeper will chase the heroes out of the bathroom near Cassandra Beauregard’s apartment. Now it’s time to visit Dr. Grey’s residential quarters. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Emily
Once in the empty room as Emily, again be sure to take the indigo ash (present) from the covered furniture on the right hand side (if you haven’t done so earlier and are playing the game for the first time), then examine the wall to find torn wallpaper. Rip it off and read all the inscriptions, including the code 1XXX. Open your inventory and examine the wedding ring. Inside it is an engraving with the year of marriage – 1918. Remove the first unit and get the code. Turn the safe handle counterclockwise to 9, clockwise to 1, counterclockwise to 8. Inside the safe you will find a flash (bulb) for the camera. Go out into the corridor and return to Ruth’s room, located in the center. Be sure to take the photo from the war (present), take Henry Cassel’s hint lying in the chest, and then use the flash on the camera to move to another place.
Using the camera, you will find yourself in a trench from World War I. There is only one way forward – continue through the trench and eventually you will reach a covered area where you can find some loot. Continue through the trench until you reach a place you have to crawl through – press the indicated key and crawl under the rubble. You will reach a T-junction – first follow the right side and collect numerous loot. Then go in the other direction. Soon you will reach another junction, but there will be nothing on the left side, so continue under the burning car on the right. Ahead and to the left is a small bunker that you can loot before continuing through the trench. Around a small turn to the right is another covered area. Press the TAB key to highlight interactive items and watch out for drinks with ammo. Eventually, you will exit the covered area. There will be a dead end on the left, so go a little to the right and continue along the trench. Your character will gasp and stop for a moment when several shells fall nearby – there is a huge beast around the next corner that you need to get past. Note that in all these stealth sections, you can act differently: shoot at the monster, and after a few hits, it will simply run away, and you can move on. If you are low on ammo, just load the last autosave, and the game will automatically provide you with some ammo. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
There are small alcoves on the left and right where you can hide from the monster. Make sure you’re crouched with CTRL or C and hide in one of the indicated spots. I had a bug where sometimes the alcove on the left wouldn’t work. Wait for the monster to pass by, then get out of cover and slowly follow the trench that goes to the right. There’s a hole on the left that you should go through. There are two ledges ahead that you can climb, and then there’s an enemy hiding around the corner in the ruins of a building that you can ignore. There’s loot hidden to the left of the enemy, and there’s a ledge on the right that you need to jump off of. Follow that ledge and press the indicated key to drop down. Again, you need to sneak. Move to the right. If you don’t have one, grab a melee weapon nearby and look to the left to spot a low, breakable wall. Once the monster is on the other side of the area, break the wall with your melee weapon and run on.
Follow the signpost “To the Trench” and go right. At the next intersection, follow the signpost again and turn left. Continue down the hallway and you’ll see a door marked with a green cross. There’s some loot behind this door. Exit the room and go left, then turn left when you see the plane crash and start sneaking as the monster has reappeared. Hide around the corner and wait for it to go down the left path, then drop down into the trench it just came out of. To the right, halfway to the trench, is a barricade that needs to be destroyed with a melee weapon. If you need a new melee weapon, you can find one a little further across the trench, but be sure to hide near the barricade and wait for the monster to pass by it. Once the barrier is destroyed, turn right and squeeze through the opening. Go left and run through the trench until you reach a dead end. Get into another narrow gap. Continue to the ledge and go down using the specified key, then go right and get into the covered part of the trench. The door will close behind you, so don’t worry about the monster chasing you. Go to the end of the corridor and interact with the far door. It will be locked. The monster will catch up with you, but a cutscene will begin. After it, go to John Markus, who has blown himself up on a shell. We continue the walkthrough of the horror Alone in the Dark (2024) on the gaming portal StopGame.Ru – for Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood.
Once the cutscene ends, you’ll find yourself in the hospital basement. Note the door on the left – it’s locked, but we’ll come back to that later. For now, go through the doorway on the right and your flashlight will go out for a moment. Turn it back on and continue through the room with the corpses until you reach the lab. There’s a fuse box on the left. Walk up to it and interact with it to begin the puzzle. Pull lever #2 to activate all four fuses. Once the lights are back on, you can collect a variety of items in the lab, including the Derceto Burial Plans Part B, which are in the cabinet to the right of the fuse box. On the shelves in the center of the room are the Derceto Burial Plans Part A and a large diagram, which you’ll need to interact with to solve the puzzle.
But first, check the drawer of the nearest table, take the clue that tells about the closure of Derceto, and also take the box of cookies (present) from the adjacent table . Check the rest of the boxes and drawers that can be found in the room, and then, when you are ready, go to the central shelf and start solving the puzzle, using both found plans (Part A and Part B). Here is how to correctly arrange all 9 sheets of paper:
Gray’s Apartments
The next objective will be general – to get to Dr. Grey’s apartment, which is on the second floor above the corridor with the servants’ staircase. If you play as Emily, you need to go through the stairwell on the first floor. If you play as Edward, the path to Dr. Grey’s room will be much easier. Once inside (go up the stairs at the entrance to the library and to the landing), talk to Emily / Edward. After the conversation is over, be sure to come up and talk to the character again until the marker disappears to get the “Chatterbox” achievement. Then take the “Fake Book” key item from the table and use it on the bookshelf. Emily / Edward will go to the bedroom, but a toy talisman (present) will appear on the floor, to the left of the desk . Go to the next room, talk to your partner and turn into a small closet on the left side. Remove the sheet from the mirror and take the key to the closet. Also, if you have collected the “Death with Honor” set, this is where you can wash the paint off Jeremy’s painting if you are playing as Emily Hartwood. Use the key to unlock the closet, then answer the phone in the previous room and examine the broken clock. You need to set the code 000 according to the diagram on the floor in the bedroom, near the bed. If done correctly, you will see the bedroom. Go back and go through the closet. Also, do not forget to pick up two clues (“First Meeting – Transcript” and “Snake Dagger”) next to the closet before you enter the code 000 on the clock. Greenland
Once you’ve teleported to Greenland, walk forward while holding the EFI key to keep an eye out for potential loot. Turn right to find a hole leading outside. Right next to the campfire is a flare gun and flares. To switch between a regular firearm and a flare gun, hold the “1” key. The tent to the right of the campfire contains the “Painful Offer” amulet (present) , and the “Greenland Expedition” clue can be found on some crates to the left of the tent.
Now you’ll need to head through the snowy area. In theory, the flare gun should help you navigate so you can move forward and light lanterns in the various places with scattered items. But in reality, it’s not necessary. Just walk forward against the wind, using the flying snowflakes as a guide. If you get turned around, just look into the direction of the wind and keep moving. Don’t stop until you reach the edge of the cliff. From there, turn left, check the nearby loot camp, and follow the path leading to the top of the hill. About halfway up, you’ll find some loot boxes – you’ll need ammo soon, so stock up well. Also grab the nearby ice pick if you don’t have a full melee weapon. As you approach the top, you’ll notice your character starts to walk slowly. Once you reach the top, grab the ammo from the barrel on the right and around the corner on the left, then continue forward through the second round arch for a short cutscene.
Jacob is quite slow, and if he gets close, you can simply press the dodge key (Space) to avoid damage. Fire enough bullets at him, and after a while, he will fall to the ground. Once Jacob is defeated, you will be able to collect the loot. Make sure to do so, as another battle awaits you! Climb the steps to the huge platform and interact with the pedestal to insert the sacrificial dagger and talisman. Rotate the plates. First, adjust the smallest one so that it glows and matches the middle ring. Then rotate the middle ring together with the small plate so that it glows as well. Finally, it remains to rotate the outer ring until the game starts a cutscene.
Jacob will be more dangerous this time, as his attacks have a longer range, but the same principles apply. Shoot the enemy, dodge melee attacks until he is defeated. But now you will have to interact with him every time he falls in the snow. Go up to him and press the specified key to use the sacrificial dagger. Continue the fight, repeat the action three times. In this case, you can collect ammunition scattered around the location. After the victory, watch the cutscene in which you will learn about the fate of Jeremy. Chapter 5
Watch the video, talk to all the characters as many times as you can until the markers disappear. This is necessary to get the Chatterbox achievement, provided that you have talked to each character the full number of times. All the characters you have met in the game (except for fictional and dead ones) will be collected here. If you have collected a full set of “All the World’s a Stage” gifts (presents are hidden in Emily and Edward’s unique episodes), then you can get a secret ending. To do this, you need to go to Grace and interact with the girl, but not for dialogue: to give her a toy talisman. Immediately after this, a secret cutscene will start with the ending, in which we see (SECRET ENDING SPOILER ): Edward and Emily, who are husband and wife, and their daughter Grace. They leave the theater room together, which you visited during the campaign. Everyone is alive and well, happy, and Edward simply emphasizes that at some point during the theatrical performance he felt as if he was “alone in the dark.”
If you want to see the standard ending (and you need to get this ending for both Emily and Edward, i.e., play the game twice), then after talking to everyone (if necessary for the Chatterbox achievement), interact with the stone fountain in the center to wait for Emily or Edward. Watch the lengthy cutscenes, which will result in the appearance of a huge monster – the Black Goat of the Woods.
Just follow the boss, collecting supplies and preparing for a simple battle. In the first stage, shoot the pink bubbles on the enemy’s “forehead”, which periodically appear after the destruction of the previous ones. Eventually, the boss will break the floor, and you will fall down. Whenever regular enemies appear, be sure to switch to these mobs. Then attack the Black Goat itself, shoot the pink bubbles. If there are none, wait a bit. When the monster stands on all paws, other pink bubbles appear on them. Just shoot them to immobilize the enemy.
