How to Get Characters in Genshin Impact Without Wishes. In this article, we will explore some tips and tricks on how to acquire new characters in Genshin Impact without spending a single primogem on wishes.
One of the main reasons for the popularity of “Genshin” was its colorful characters. Each playable hero stands out with his appearance and a set of unique abilities, the combination of which becomes the basis of the combat system – the game allows you to instantly change one character from the team to another.
Some are attracted by such battle mechanics, while others are waiting for the release of visually attractive characters – in any case, the player will want to get them in their collection. Today, we will tell you about all the playable heroes in Genshin Impact and how to get them.
How to Get Characters in Genshin Impact Without Wishes
Genshin Impact has already introduced 80 playable characters. The 81st will become available at the end of April, and several more will be added to the list by the end of the year. The game is updated every 6 weeks, and almost always a patch introduces new heroes.
All characters are clearly divided into two combat parameters:
– weapon (catalyst, bow, spear, one-handed or two-handed sword),
– element (pyro – fire, hydro – water, anemo – air, geo – earth, cryo – ice, electro and dendro – nature).
Several playable characters can be obtained for free as you progress through the game, and this team alone is enough to cover almost all of the game’s content, from the storyline to the challenging dungeons.
Free Heroes in Genshin Impact
The first character we get at the very beginning of the game is the Traveler, the main character of Genshin Impact. Before the start, you can choose a female (Lumin) or male (Eether) character model, otherwise he/she is not much different from other heroes and can perform the same functions in battle.
In addition, the Traveler can change the element depending on the region he is in. This will allow you to solve any puzzles and riddles, as well as get variability in battles – even if running for a standard character for tens of hours will quickly get boring.
As you progress through the first story missions, you’ll receive three more characters to complete your first team:
– Ember: element – pyro, weapon – bow;
– Lisa: electro, catalyst;
– Kaeya: cryo, one-handed sword.
Characters in the standard banner of Genshin Impact
Seven of the 40+ legendary characters can be obtained in the regular banner. It is always available and is not tied to the current version of the game, and its content is almost unchanged, but too many different heroes and weapons are added there, so it is very difficult to get something specific.
Experienced players also believe that the standard banner does not include the strongest characters, so it is not worth draining primogems here. For such prayers, you will have additional currency that cannot be spent on anything else.

The strongest characters are not easy to obtain. Most five-star characters are only available in event banners, which change every three weeks. Four different banners are played in pairs per patch.
From April 2 to April 22, the second half of version 4.5 begins – today, the prayers of Chiori and Itto will be replaced by “reruns” (a repeated banner that was already there before) of Nevilett and Kazuha. Then these characters will be unobtainable for several patches.
In addition, “event” characters that have appeared in the event prayer at least three times are included there. In the next patches (until the end of 2024), the following characters may appear in the “regional” banner:
Gan Yu: cryo, bow
Ye Lan: hydro, bow
Tartaglia: hydro, bow
Zhong Li: geo, spear
Hu Tao: pyro, spear
Kokomi: hydro, catalyst
Ayato: hydro, one-handed sword
Ayaka: cryo, one-handed sword
Raiden: electro, spear
Eimiya: pyro, bow
Saino: electric, spear
Standard characters can also get there: Qi Qi, Ke Qing, Tignari and Dehya .
Other event legendary heroes will have to wait longer. It is not known exactly when a particular hero will be available, but the longer it has been away, the greater the chance of seeing the character in the next patch.
Now players are guided by this list:
Shen He (last banner appearance – March 2023)
Nilu (April 2023)
Al-Haytham (June 2023)
Wanderer (August 2023)
Lini (August 2023)
Risley (October 2023)
Furina ( November 2023 )
Bai Zhu ( November 2023 )
Navia (December 2023)
Xian Yun (February 2024)
Nahida (February 2024)
Yae Miko (February 2024)
Xiao (February 2024)
Chiori (March 2024)
Itto (March 2024)
It is quite logical to assume that in the next update 4.6 the developers may add prayers to Shen He, Nile or Alt-Haitham .
