Deadlock is a new multiplayer game from Valve that combines elements of a third-person shooter and MOBA. From shooters, the game has vertical gameplay, style, and battle format. And from MOBA, the project got creeps, items, four lanes, hero classes, and much more.
Players familiar with Dota 2 and League of Legends will find many familiar mechanics in Deadlock. Some gamers compare the project to Overwatch , but apart from the external similarities, these games have little in common.
At the moment, Deadlock is not available for purchase or free download. Access to the game is only possible through an invitation from the developers or from users who have already received an invite from Valve.
This is definitely a worthwhile game, in a dark steampunk setting. It reminded me of Dishonored and BioShock Infinite visually. The audience for this project will definitely grow, we expect excellent support and constant updates.
What’s unique is that it’s a shooter where you need to kill creeps and farm souls. And also buy items, destroy opponents and their “throne”. There are 4 lanes on the map and, basically, users play in the following distribution: 1-2-2-1. Perhaps because of the 6 people, the game resembles the old Overwatch.
How to invite a friend to Deadlock
You can only get into the game by inviting a friend on Steam. Valve has recently simplified the process and now it is not necessary for the person to have been on your friends list for more than a week. You also do not need to provide the email address where the link or code was sent. To invite a friend to Deadlock, do the following:
- Go to the game and click on the “Invite Friends” button in the lower right corner;
- In the window that opens, select a friend and click “Invite”;
- Wait a few hours.
Previously, to invite, you had to specify your friend’s email so that a letter with a special activation code or link would be sent to it. Then, in the mail, you just had to click on the link. After that, Deadlock would automatically appear in the Steam library.
If you received a key, go to your Steam library, click on “Add game” in the lower left corner and enter the code in the “Activate on Steam” menu.
Why can’t I invite a friend to Deadlock?
There are certain conditions under which your buddy can get Deadlock:
- The account must be created more than 30 days ago;
- The restriction must be removed by making a purchase of $5 or more;
- The account is not idle and is active: games are running, friends are added.
If you don’t see your friend in the invite list, they already have the game, so you can send an invite to someone else.
