Kinich - Genshin Impact Character GuideKinich - Genshin Impact Character Guide

In this article, we’ll learn more about Kinich, look at his guide, and put together a good build so that he deals a lot of damage.

Genshin Impact Hero Description

In Natlan, Kinich is a saurian hunter. He is quiet and rather subdued, so his pet pixel dragon, Kuhul Ahav, is responsible for all the chatter. The locals are not thrilled with Kinich, as dragon hunting is not common in the region. But the character doesn’t care much, as he gets good money for his work.

In combat, Kinich acts as the main damage dealer and uses a two-handed sword. And his Dendro God’s Eye gives his attacks the power of the elements. He is able to move around the field with the help of a grappling hook and actively uses it in combat. And like other Natlan heroes, he has the Night Spirit mechanic, of course.

How to get Kinich

Kinich can only be obtained from his signature banner, “Seeker of Fiery Secrets.” The character’s event prayer will be available from September 17 to October 8, 2024. After that, the hero can only be picked up at a rerun.

Along with Kinich, you can get three 4★ characters with an increased drop rate from the banner: Toma, Sarah, and Chevreuse.

Strengths and weaknesses

Pros Cons
·         Like other characters in Natlan, he has a special movement. The grappling hook can be used not only in combat, but also in the open world, and with its help it is easy to climb to high places or activate the mechanics of the region.

·         Quite simple in crit balance, as it increases its own critical damage when assembled.

·         When used correctly, the elemental skill can deal a lot of damage.

·         Does not require a signature weapon and can use many alternative options.

·         All constellations are useful, as they enhance the character’s skills. Even at C1, there is a noticeable increase in damage. But even without them, there are no problems with damage.

·         Quite difficult for beginners. Most of the damage is hidden behind the use of E, and to best use it, you need to keep your distance from the enemy and slide in a circle to gain Night Spirit points.

·         There aren’t many heroes that can be used in a party with Kinich. Because of his passive, he focuses on Burning and Blooming, and there aren’t many heroes that can be used in that style of play.

·         Strong damage countered by solo targeting. Kinich cannot attack groups of enemies, so is better suited for bosses.

Talents and abilities

Basic skills

Skill name Purpose Skill Description
Night Sun Style Normal attack Attacks enemies with a sword, performing up to three strikes in a row.

After using the skill Hunter Cron: Riding on High Ground, can perform a normal attack in the air.

Charged attack Spins with the sword, consuming some stamina and finally throws it at enemies, dealing physical damage.
Attack in the fall Falls down rapidly, hitting all enemies in its path. Deals area damage upon landing.
Hunter Kron: Riding the Heights Elemental Skill (E) If there is an enemy or active attack target nearby, Kinich throws a grappling hook at them, hooking in and initiating the Night Spirit’s Blessing state with 0 points.

If there is no suitable target nearby, fires a hook forward, dashing and reducing skill cooldown by 60%. Long press to select throw direction.

Night Spirit’s Blessing: Kinich

Lasts 10 seconds. Generates 2 Night Spirit Points every second and gains the following conditions:

·         When using a normal attack, it moves around the enemy it is attached to and shoots Dendro at them with Night Spirit buffed damage. Generates 3 Night Spirit on hit.

·         When Night Spirit points reach maximum, Scalebreaker can be used.

Scale-killer :

Consumes all Night Spirit points and deals damage to Dendro with a boost. Long press allows you to select the target of the shot. When hitting, Kinich hooks the enemy hit.

While Night Spirit’s Blessing is active, Kinich creates a Blind Zone near the enemy when he activates his Hook or Scalebreaker. Entering it grants him 4 Night Spirit, after which the zone disappears.

If the hook becomes detached due to too much range or other reasons, using a normal attack on any target will immediately reattach the hook to it.

Glory to the dragon’s majesty Elemental Burst (Ulta) Summons his draconic majesty Cuchul Ahav (by agreement, of course) and deals AoE damage to Dendro with the Night Spirit bonus. If Kinich activates Night Spirit’s Blessing during the ult, its duration is increased.

Passive Talents

Skill name Activation Skill Description
Fire Spirit Treaty Immediately upon receipt After an ally activates Nightspirit Flash, Kinich gains the Spirit Hunter effect. It lasts for 15 seconds and can stack up to 2 times.

When using Scalebreaker, Spirit Hunter levels are consumed, and each of them increases Scalebreaker’s attack by 320% of the character’s attack power.

The Agile Messenger Immediately upon receipt Marks Natlan’s curiosities on the map. When interacting with phlogiston, gains the effect of Blazing Pursuit: characters’ speed increases by 15% for 10 seconds.
Gift of the Night’s Realm: Full Restitution 2 rise If Kinich is in the air after using E, he can spend 10 phlogiston points on a second jump.

When in areas of Natlan with phlogiston, Night Spirit Transfer can be activated. When the active character sprints, moves with a special skill, or is in the air, switching to Kinich will activate one of the following conditions:

·         If there is a Seal of Coiled Grass nearby that can be interacted with, Kinich will automatically fire a hook at it;

·         If there is an enemy nearby and the combat state is active, Hunter Kron: Riding on High Ground is used.

If the above conditions are not met, the character releases the hook and performs a jump. Night Spirit Transfer can be activated once every 10 seconds.

When interacting with Coiled Grass Seals and items that can be activated by Yumkasaurus, Kinicha’s E-class will change to Mimic Yumkasaurus.

The Price of Desolation 4th rise Enemies that are hit by the character’s E-bar while Night Spirit’s Blessing is active are given the Desolation status. When they are hit by the Burning or Blooming reaction, Kinich gains 7 Night Spirit. The effect activates once every 0.8 seconds and lasts until Night Spirit’s Blessing ends.

What weapon to install

Name Base stat Characteristics Description
Fang of the Mountain King 50-740 attack power;

2-11% critical hit chance.

When the wearer’s E-Shka hits an enemy, he gains 1 level of Kron’s Favor. Can be activated once every 0.5 seconds. When any character in the squad activates Burning or Blooming, Kinich gains 3 levels of Kron’s Favor (1 time per 2 seconds).

Each level of Cron’s Favor increases the damage of E and Ultimate by 10-20% for 6 seconds (stacks up to 6 times).

Kinich’s signature sword, which will work best on him. Gives few crits, but has a high attack base and a good damage boost in the passive.
Reed Sea Lighthouse 46-608 attack power;

7-33% critical hit chance.

After the E-ka hits the enemy, the wearer gains 20-40% attack power for 8 seconds. If the character takes damage, their attack power increases by another 20-40% for 8 seconds. If there is no active shield, the wearer’s HP increases by 32-64%. The effects work even if the character is “in the pocket”. Not a bad legendary replacement. Gives a higher chance of a critical hit, but slightly sags in the attack base. But it allows you to accumulate a lot of attack power without special conditions. True, you will have to play in berserker mode and get hit in the face.
Dragonbone Sword 42-510 attack power;

6-27% critical hit chance.

Every 4 seconds, the wearer gains a stack of the passive, which increases their damage by 6-10%, but increases incoming damage by 2-3%. There can be a total of 5 stacks. They persist across character changes, but are reduced by 1 when taking damage. A great option from the Battle Pass that suits many damage dealers. The attack base is quite low, but the passive compensates for it. In addition, the sword is available from the start of the game and many players were able to collect it before the 5th awakening.
Wolf’s Bane 46-608 attack power;

10-49% attack power.

Increases attack power by 20-40%. If the affected target’s HP is below 30%, the power of all allies’ units is increased by 40-80% for 12 seconds. The effect occurs once every 30 seconds. Basic standard legendary for many damage dealers. Gives a lot of attack power and can buff the team.
Earthshaker 43-565 attack power;

6-27% attack power.

When any reaction with the Pyro element is activated, the character increases E-shka’s damage by 16-32% for 8 seconds. Works even when the carrier is “in the pocket”. A good budget replacement. Pairs well with Kinich’s passive regarding Burning and Blooming and increases damage.

Best Artifact Sets

Although Kinich belongs to the Dendro characters, all his skills depend on attack power. It is not necessary to look for elemental mastery, but crits are very necessary. In short, he is collected as a classic damage dealer, so in the lower stats look for crits, attack power and energy recovery. If you get elemental mastery too, then it is not scary.

The distribution of the main stats will look like this:

  • Head: Critical hit chance or critical damage, depending on stat balance;
  • Hours: Attack Power;
  • Cup: Dendro bonus damage or attack power.

Obsidian Tome

Almost a signature set for Kinich. Provides bonuses from the Blessing of the Night Spirit and buffs the character’s crits. For 2 parts, we get 15% damage when activating the Blessing. And for 4 parts, when using the Night Spirit, the wearer’s critical hit chance increases by 40%. The effect lasts 6 seconds and is triggered once per second.

Unfinished Dreams

Another good option that requires a little more skill. To fully activate the set’s passive, the character must leave the battle for a while.

For 2 parts, we will get 18% attack power. For 4 parts, the wearer’s damage will increase by 50% if he was out of combat for 3 seconds. If during the battle, the enemies do not have the Burning status, the effect decreases by 10% every second. If the enemies have Burning, the damage increases by 10% every second up to 50%.

2+2 combo

Well, the third best option for artifacts would be a 2+2 combination of the Golden Troupe and Memories of the Deep Forest sets. The first set will give 20% of the wearer’s E damage, and the second set – 15% of Dendro damage. You can also try replacing Memories of the Deep Forest with any attack power bonus.

Squad options

The first squad plays from the reaction of Burning. The best option for him would be Emilia, but if you don’t have her, you can replace her with Nahida. Unfortunately, the pack is quite demanding, but we said above that Kinich has a small pool of suitable heroes.

The squad includes:

  • Kinich;
  • Emilia/Nahida;
  • Dehya/Xiang Ling;

The second option is a game from Blossom. Here we definitely need a Hydro hero to create buds, as well as a Pyro who will explode them, ideally this can be Toma, collected in Elemental Mastery and HP.

The pack may consist of these characters:

  • Kinich;
  • Nahida;
  • Xing Qiu/Ye Lan;
  • Toma/Dehya.
  • The third option is the classic Dendro + Electro build from Overgrowth. Here we put Kinich in Elemental Mastery and take Electro support in the squad.

The team includes:

  • Kinich;
  • Nahida;
  • Fischl/Raiden;
  • Zhong Li/Bai Zhu.

Well, the last option is also quite classic – a game from Vegetation. Here we need Hydro and Electro characters that can activate the necessary reactions.

We are taking into the squad:

  • Kinicha;
  • Nahidu;
  • Xing Qiu/Ye Lan;
  • Raiden/Cookie.

Constellation Kinich

Source: genshin-impact.fandom.com / Constellation Kinich

Constellation level Name Description
1 Parrot’s beak After landing from the skill Cron Hunter: Riding on High Ground, Kinich’s movement speed is increased by 30% for 6 seconds. Critical damage of Scalebreaker’s shot is increased by 100%.
2 Palm of the tiger beetle The character’s E-Shka, when hitting enemies, cuts their resistance to the Dendro element by 30% for 6 seconds. The first shot from Scalebreaker during the Blessing of the Night Spirit is strengthened by 100% and its area of damage increases.
3 Protosuchian claws E-level increases by 3.
4 Hummingbird feather After using Ring Shot or activating Scalebreaker while Nightspire’s Blessing is active, Kinich gains 5 Energy. This effect can occur every 2.8 seconds.

Ult damage increased by 70%.

5 Howler’s Tail Ultimate level increases by 3.
6 Silhouette of the Beast of the Annunciation When hitting an enemy with Scalebreaker, the shot ricochets off enemies, dealing 700% of Kinich’s attack power damage to them.

If at this time the buff from the passive Fire Spirit Pact or the character’s second constellation is activated, then the ricochet also receives them.

Now you and Kinich are ready to hunt the saurians (and humans). We wish you to take the character into your collection, and that the legions always fall without guarantees. And don’t forget to read our other guides.
