What does No Command message mean on AndroidWhat does No Command message mean on Android

The No Command message is actually created for a good purpose – to protect the smartphone owner from keys sticking. So, in recovery mode, No Command appears when Android realizes that a button or buttons are being held down for too long.

Thus, the system prevents accidental deletion of data from the device. This can happen if the smartphone, for example, is in the pocket and the buttons are accidentally pressed. Then the user just needs to exit the “No command” mode.

However, there are also more serious reasons. For example, a system failure or damage to the device components.

How to fix No Command error

If the message appeared for another reason and prevents you from using the device, try one or more of the methods below.

Through recovery mode

Often, to exit the “No command” mode, you just need to enter a certain combination. Which one exactly depends on the specific smartphone model. Here are the most common ones (from most to least popular):

  • You need to hold down the power key and press the volume up button once;
  • You need to hold down the lock button, press Home and the power button;
  • Simply press the volume up button once;
  • Press the power button once;
  • Press all the physical buttons on the case at once;
  • You need to hold down the power button and press the volume down key.

Afterwards, the smartphone will enter the normal Recovery mode. You just need to reboot the smartphone and use it as before.

By removing the battery

It happens that the above method does not work. In this case, you will have to look for the cause further and try other options. If you have a modular smartphone (there are not many of them, but they still exist), then the procedure for removing the battery may help:

  • Just open the lid;
  • Remove the battery;
  • Wait a bit and insert again.

Perhaps the “No command” problem will be solved. If your battery is not removable, then in the event that you do not have the necessary skills, it makes sense to contact the workshop.

By removing the SIM card and memory card

It happens that the conflict is related to the SIM card or a microSD card glitch. It is necessary:

  • Remove the SIM card from the tray;
  • Remove the microSD card.

If the “No Team” message has disappeared, consider yourself lucky.

Through a forced reboot

A forced reboot may also help. It is done differently on devices of different manufacturers. Examples:

  • On Samsung smartphones: press and hold the volume down and power buttons;
  • On Google Pixel smartphones: press and hold the power button;
  • On HTC smartphones: press and hold the volume down and power buttons;
  • On LG smartphones: press and hold the volume down and power button.
  • On OPPO smartphones: press and hold the power button.

Via factory reset

This is done in recovery mode. If nothing helps, you will have to reset the smartphone to factory settings. In this case, all data will be lost. So use this method only in case of emergency or if nothing else helps.

Using ReiBoot for Android

Finally, you can resort to professional software that can solve the “No command” problem. For example, ReiBoot for Android. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Downloadthe program to your PC;
  • Launch it;
  • Connect your smartphone to your PC using a cable;
