Learn how to get netherite in Minecraft and upgrade your gear for a stronger gameplay experience. Find out the best methods for obtaining this valuable resource.
Netherite in Minecraft is a unique material that opens up new possibilities for crafters. With its help, you can create items with incredible durability, surpassing even the durability of diamond items.
The peculiarity is that the ingots made from it, as well as the weapons and armor created using it, are not affected by fire and lava. This makes them indispensable for players who strive to survive in the most extreme conditions.
At what altitude to look for netherite
To obtain netherite, you need an ore that can only be found in the Nether.
First, you need to find “Ancient Fragments”. They appear in random places in the “Nether” at a height of Y=8 and Y=22 cubes, but the highest chance of finding them is at level Y=14. After that, scraps are crafted from them. How to make a netherite ingot from these scraps, we will describe below.
How to get to the Nether
To find the ancient debris, you need to go to the Nether. Build a ladder down to the desired level, but be careful: there may be a lava lake at the bottom. Do not dig directly below you, rather move at an angle so you can see your way.
The ancient debris is hidden, so you’ll have to clear away the blocks around you. To get it, you’ll need diamond or netherite tools.

How to make netherite ingot
First, the ancient fragments are smelted in a furnace to produce scrap. A netherite ingot is obtained by crafting four scraps with four gold ingots.
Methods of Netherite Mining
Dynamite
Dynamite is one of the most effective ways to mine Ancient Debris. Unlike other Nether blocks, Ancient Debris is resistant to explosions, so it can be mined this way.
To use dynamite to find ancient debris, build a tunnel and place it every other block.
Before you light the dynamite, make sure you have a safe escape route. Light the dynamite closest to you and run away. The explosion will cause a chain reaction, destroying the surrounding blocks and creating a large cave. If there was ancient debris in the area, it will become visible.
Remember that the Nether is full of lava, so explosions can create lava falls. If ancient debris is near lava, carefully pick it up. It does not burn in lava, so even if it falls there, it will not disappear.
If you have good armor and full health, you can dive into the lava to collect the debris.
Enchanted Tools
If you don’t have dynamite, you can use a pickaxe with the Efficiency enchantment to break down ancient debris faster.
With a diamond pickaxe, netherite can be mined in 0.1 seconds. And with the efficiency enchantment, you can destroy entire walls of netherite rock in less than a second.
This method is slower than using dynamite, but still effective and can be a good alternative.
Use of beds
Another way to mine netherite is by using beds. This method is dangerous, but can be effective if you don’t have dynamite.
To do this, build a 4×1 tunnel and place a bed in the last two blocks. In the fifth place, place two more blocks to close the tunnel. Dig from the side until you see the corner of the bed. Click on the corner to trigger an explosion.
If you have basic armor, you will avoid damage from the blast wave. Do not click on the bed until you are at a safe distance, otherwise you may die.
What can be crafted from netherite ore
Any item that requires a netherite ingot to be crafted has increased resistance to lava and fire.
Netherite Armor
A netherite armor set consists of a helmet, cuirass, greaves, and boots. To craft them, you need an ingot placed after the corresponding diamond item. That is, to create a netherite helmet, you will need a diamond helmet and one ingot.
The armor provides the same defense points as diamond armor, but its durability is significantly higher.
Netherite Sword
Has the highest DPS and durability. Crafted like armor: take a diamond sword and a netherite ingot. All enchantments and curses will remain.
Netherite Tools
The hoe, shovel, pickaxe and axe are obtained using the same principle: the diamond version of the tool is improved.
Netherite block
Crafted from nine netherite ingots and used as fuel for a beacon or its base.
Magnetite
It can be used to bind a compass to a block (right-click on the block while holding the compass). The compass will always point to the block, no matter what dimension it is in. It requires one netherite ingot and eight carved stone bricks to craft.
