What is config

Files like .cfg or config are encrypted text documents that store information about the values ​​and parameters of various programs and games. The data recorded there is responsible for the functionality of the utility, its appearance and the scenarios that it activates during certain actions. Usually, configs are created when you first launch the game, and then all changes are recorded. 

In the case of Counter-Strike 2, it records all your settings, including graphics data, trigger operation, and other important parameters.

How to create a config

If for some reason the folder is missing and you can’t find it even manually, you need to dig into the game settings in Steam. To do this, open Steam and go to the library. Right-click on Counter-Strike 2 and select “Properties” from the drop-down list. After that, follow the path: “Installed files” – “Browse”, and in the next window, select game – csgo – cfg.

Once you are in the folder, you will have to create a text document manually. Write down all the console commands and binds that you use and save it using the “Save As” option. In the file type, click “All files” and write any name in Latin with the file type .cfg. For example, you can write config.cfg or file.cfg.
