How To Make Your Own Minecraft PE Server For Free.
Minecraft Pocket Edition is a pocket edition of the game that everyone loves. This version works great on smartphones of various capacities, providing users with a wide choice in terms of modifications. In today’s article, I would like to discuss the topic of creating servers for mobile devices. If in the case of computers everything is more or less clear, then here problems may arise, which we will talk about.
There are two methods of creating servers for Minecraft PE. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages . We suggest talking about this a little later, but for now let’s introduce the basic concepts that play the most important role in the development of remote servers.
- Host (hosting) – a server that contains all files and data. To hold large flows of users, you will need a paid option, but to get acquainted with the concept of work, you can also find a free one.
- Port – a hardware and software component that provides access for docking of the type “computer-computer” or “smartphone-computer”. Appearance – a regular numeric identifier. There are open ports and closed ones that require access rights.
- IP address – a unique digital identifier of a user on the network. It is assigned to each Internet node, for example, your phone.
- Admin panel is a special tool for managing something (in our case – the game server).
Method 1
This method is extremely simple and is based on the banal distribution of a Wi-Fi signal. So, go to the phone settings and select the “Wireless networks” tab (or similar) . Click on “More” and look for the “Access point” item. Turn it on and work on the settings: set a password, allow other devices nearby to connect. Go to Minecraft and create a new world . Ask players to connect to your access point, go to the game and select your server in the tab with worlds. Now, when users go to the server, you will have your own admin panel with settings. The big disadvantage of this method is that the server is not global , that is, it does not have a host and the maximum range is based on the location of the access point.
Method 2
The second method is more advanced and is based on the use of additional software. A publicly available project can be created in literally an hour using this method. The main advantage of this method is the ability to connect any additional plugins that do not conflict with the current version of the game. So, first you will need to install the required program. It can be the popular Multiplayer for Minecraft or the simpler DroidPocketMine, which will be used as an example for further description of the server parameters.
Having installed the desired application, we go into it and perform the initial setup. Most often, the required item is marked as “Settings” or “Server parameters” . Before this, we install the server files themselves by going to the necessary sections and clicking on the “Download” or “Download” button. Usually, three server versions are provided to choose from: Soft (standard and the newest), Stable (stable, but not always new) and Beta (the newest version with certain features, not released to the public domain, beware of bugs).
After the above actions, go to the settings. Here we are greeted by a rich list of parameters. Among the main ones, we note:
- Port – server port, it is recommended to leave the default value.
- Name – title.
- Description – description.
- MOTD – welcome message when starting a world.
- Gamemode – game mode (survival, creative, hardcore).
- Enable PvP – permission for battles among players.
- Maximum players – maximum number of players.
- Whitelist – “white list” of users.
- Spawn protection – spawn protection (how many blocks cannot be destroyed.
We strongly recommend that you do not touch the other parameters, otherwise the server may crash . After setting up, do not forget to save and start the server by pressing the corresponding button in the main menu. In the status window, find the line “IP Address”. Go to Minecraft, press “Connect to server” and enter the previously mentioned digital address . The administrator will have access to the control panel of the current server, the commands of which depend on the application used.
The most common program for creating mobile host servers is, of course, Multiplayer for Minecraft. The specific name and a bunch of positive reviews give an idea of the application as very high-quality and really working. Among the advantages, we can note: low delays in terms of ping, the ability to add friends to the team of administrators, free distribution . There are also disadvantages: the maximum number of slots does not exceed six, the installation of additional plugins is impossible, exiting the admin server involves its complete shutdown . In general, MFM is a light version of the host, which does not require monetary investments, but also does not provide wide opportunities.
