Spiderbots are perhaps one of the most difficult collectibles to find in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This is largely due to the fact that they are one of the few activities that do not appear on the main map of New York City. Instead, you have to do it the old-fashioned way: explore the entire city using minor hints and tips. As you get closer to the spiderbots, you will hear unique signals.
New York is a huge city, and even sound signals do not make things easier, and it all comes down to finding a needle in a big haystack. However, I am here to make your task easier. In this guide, you will learn where to find every spiderbot in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. For convenience, they are all divided into districts. There will be few spoilers, but some minor ones are still present.
How to Find Spiderbots in New York
During the first act of the story campaign, a mandatory mission called “Spider-Spy?” will begin, during which you will be introduced to spiderbots. A new section for these collectibles will be unlocked. Here are a couple of the best ways to determine if there is a spiderbot near you.
The most important tip
If you still want to find spiderbots on your own, do not focus on them, go through the story campaign, complete all the activities, which is quite easy to do. Eventually, you will collect most of the spiderbots in parallel with completing these tasks, using the recommendations below. Then, pay attention to the exploration progress of each region by hovering your cursor over the map. If you have received all the rewards for a region, then there is no spiderbot in it. If you have not received all the rewards, then there is at least one spiderbot in this region. In this case, use fast travel. Teleport to one of the corners of the region and start combing it from top to bottom.
Pulses
The easiest way to spot the Spiderbot is to visually identify the powerful multi-colored pulses that radiate out in all directions from the device. As you move around the city, you should notice purple and orange flashes that look like an expanding sphere and repeat at the same intervals. Move closer to the pulse and find the source. As you get closer, you will hear strange intermittent signals from the controller. In principle, after this, it is easy to find the Spiderbot.
Buy all the upgrades in the “Movement” tree
The problem with visual pulses is that if they are high above or below you, you can miss them. You will fly past the Spiderbot without even knowing it was there. To fix this, be sure to unlock and equip (it is a pair) an additional upgrade from the “Movement” tree, thanks to which boxes with parts will be displayed on the minimap. It doesn’t say so, but in fact, purple spider icons will also appear on the minimap if you are within a few dozen meters of them.
It is important to note that this upgrade only shows the spiderbots on the minimap. They will not appear on the main map in the menu, nor will the parts boxes. If you are struggling to find the last spiderbots and you are having trouble, use the information below.
All spiderbots in Astoria
There are four spiderbots that can be found in Astoria:
Shocker
Bloody Spider
Manga Universe
Classic
Spiderbot #1 – Shocker
There’s a park in the western part of Astoria. And above this park, the Spiderbot Shocker is hovering in the sky. Unfortunately, it’s too high up for you to pull it with your web, but you can use the airflow on the roofs of nearby buildings to launch yourself upward on your wings. Use a boost jump (hold R2 + “X”).
Spiderbot #2 – Blood Spider
There are some old factory buildings in the northwest corner of Astoria. Look for the Blood Spider spiderbot south of the large factory building, on the wall of a brick office building protruding from the roof of a medium-sized warehouse.
Spiderbot #3 – Manga Universe
There’s a nice neighborhood of brick houses in the southeast of Astoria, reminiscent of a tiny college courtyard. In the center of this square is a large brick tower. On the Manhattan side, look for the Mangaverse Spiderbot. Simply climb up the wall to it and grab it.
Spiderbot #4 – Classic
The last Spiderbot in Astoria is on Randall’s Island, between Astoria and Harlem. Follow the bridge and head to the large apartment or office building on the south side of the island. Climb up to the roof to find the Classic Spiderbot on the Manhattan side of the building.
Spiderbot #1 – Spider-Man 1602
In the center of Central Park, south of the multi-story buildings, there is a large rock formation. Head to the eastern part of the two rocks (closer to the Upper East Side) to find the Spider-Man 1602 spiderbot.
Spiderbot #2 – Iron Spider
In the northern part of Central Park, look for a series of tunnels and open-air roads that allow cars to travel through the park. The Spiderbot is in the western tunnel, near the Upper West Side. This road does not appear on the large map, but it does appear on the minimap. When you see the large gray line, head down to the road and head west until you see a tunnel. Hanging from the ceiling is Iron Spider.
All Spiderbots in Chinatown
There are three Spiderbots in Chinatown:
Spider Armor MK II
Spiderwoman
Mr. Negative
Spiderbot #1 – Spider Armor MK II

Spiderbot #3 – Mister Negative
West of the Williamsburg Bridge, look for a spiderbot hovering high in the air. Climb up to the very tall high-rise nearby, jump off, and fly on your wings to the spiderbot. When flying past him, be sure to press the “triangle” (even if you don’t see the corresponding hint).

Penny Parker
Amazing Spider-Man
The Boss

Head towards Coney Island, an amusement park in the southeastern corner of Brooklyn. On the way there, you will find a railroad running along the surface. Go down under it, face Queens and find the Spiderbot Supremacy located on the train tracks.

Spiderbot #3 – Gwen Stacy
The last bot in Queens is near the bridge leading to Little Odessa. Follow the left path up and immediately after the crossing you will see a tall building on your left. There is a small extension attached to it that looks like another, shorter building. At the top of this small building look for Gwen Stacy’s spiderbot.

Spiderbot #2 – Rhino
On the western side of Hell’s Kitchen, look for the giant smoking chimneys located near the Hudson. The Rhino Spiderbot is crawling on top of the leftmost chimney, on the side closest to Midtown.
Spiderbot #3 – Vulture
This Spiderbot is one of the more difficult collectibles of this type. It is located right in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen, several dozen meters up. You won’t be able to get to it from Hell’s Kitchen. Instead, head to the western part of Midtown, look for the air currents at the top of the already tall building. Use this with a boosted jump and wings to fly up to the Vulture bot.
Spiderbot #4 – Future Foundation
Go to the Baxter Building – the home base of the Fantastic Four and the northeasternmost building in Hell’s Kitchen. Start climbing the building and look for a strange, long, oval contraption in the eastern corner. Look for the Future Foundation spiderbot across from Midtown.

Spiderbot #2 – Scorpion
In the southern half of Williamsburg is the last spiderbot described in our guide. It flies above the high-rises. There aren’t many high-rises here, so head to the southeastern part of the region and find a radio antenna. Jump off it and fly on your wings towards the Scorpion spiderbot.
What happens if you collect all the spiderbots
After collecting each bot, talk to Ganke to start the side quest. Head to the Financial District and approach the icon on the map to see a cutscene with a joke that will be familiar to fans of the series. For everything, you will receive 1000 experience points and 400 parts. Not to mention the reward you get for collecting each spiderbot separately.
