3. Conduct research on the breeds

Dogs come in different sizes: large or small, very active or domestic, hairy or not so much. That’s why it’s so important to do some research on different dog breeds. You should imagine in detail how your life will change with the appearance of the chosen pet. Will you need to walk it a lot, or maybe this dog will go to the toilet on a special diaper right at home?

If you like the way Border Collies look when they throw Frisbee, but no one wants to walk one of those dogs for an hour twice a day, then look for another breed. If you like the way Siberian Huskies look, but your dad raises geese, then that’s not the breed for your family. If you like almost everything about Golden Retrievers, but don’t like the way they look, then just keep looking. You may find a dog breed that interests you and your family.
