Even in name alone, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is little different from other Chinese Dark Souls clones that have come out in recent years, and stands out only for the striking appearance of the main character. However, with the help of the mods from our list, you can give other equally important aspects of the game a personal touch.
Like most soulslikes, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers can be challenging for many players due to its high difficulty threshold. In addition, the game is not without its technical issues either. Luckily, there are many Wuchang mods that give you full control over the controls, gameplay mechanics, and performance settings.
Wuchang Mod Enabler
If you’re looking to fully customize Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, we recommend installing this useful tool first.
Wuchang Mod Enabler allows you to install even some unfinished and unoptimized mods by simply dragging and dropping them into a specific folder.
If you purchased the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store, the steps will be almost identical, but for Game Pass owners, the steps for installing Wuchang mods are slightly different, as we will explain in more detail in the instructions below:
- Download Wuchang Mod Enabler from NexusMods.
- Extract the contents to the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers game folder.
- Steam: /steamapps/common/Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
- Game Pass: /XboxGames/WUCHANG- Fallen Feathers
- Go to the Paks folder located in the “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers/Project_Plague/Content/Paks/” directory and create a new folder called “Mods”.
- Extract the downloaded mods to the Mods folder.
If you’re having trouble installing mods for the Game Pass version, place them directly into the Paks folder.

Ultimate Engine Tweaks
The first thing that owners of not the most top-end PCs will definitely want to improve in the game is performance. And this can be done in many different ways, but we recommend not to bother and just install Ultimate Engine Tweaks.
This modification makes several important adjustments to the Unreal Engine .ini file, aimed at eliminating stuttering, reducing input lag, increasing frame rate and image clarity. In other words, this way you can achieve improved performance and stability of the game without losing image quality.
But be prepared that the effect of changing the graphics settings may vary depending on your PC configuration and video card model , but the mod author provides detailed individual instructions on this matter in the description and discussion thread on the Nexus page linked below.
Death Return
We know there will be hardcore fans who will argue that the monotonous walk back and forth to the place of your recent death is an integral part of the gaming experience. But if you want to save yourself a lot of time and nerves, install Death Return.
This wonderful mod allows you to instantly move to the place of your last death by simply pressing one button. Moreover, you can teleport to other places if you save their coordinates in advance using special hotkeys.
Please note that this mod has several drawbacks: for example, you cannot set a respawn point inside the arena with the boss , and if you died not at the hands of an enemy, but by drowning in a river, then it is better not to use this function at all for obvious reasons.
Fast Vertical Traversal
Uchan is capable of cutting through enemies in the blink of an eye, but when it comes to climbing ladders, she is not so nimble. And all veterans of Soulslikes understand that this slowness will add a few extra hours to the game, since you will have to climb all the locations up and down, and more than once.
Fast Vertical Traversal fixes this glaring flaw by speeding up not only the mechanics of climbing ladders, but also the animation of falling from heights, should you decide to save a little more time at the expense of losing health.
Now, when you make your 50th attempt to defeat Fan Lin, you won’t have to wait so long.
No Fall Damage
By the way, there is an even more effective way to speed up the process of moving around the locations of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, thanks to which you can not use stairs at all.
Agree that given Uchan’s superhero abilities, she dies unjustifiably easily when falling even from a not very great height. No Fall Damage will forever rid you of such unnecessary deaths and allow you to quickly reach the end point of the route at the bottom of the next gorge.
Of course, this mod won’t save you from falling into the void or other places where there’s no way to return, so keep that in mind before you take a leap of faith.
Parry Anything
If you like soulslikes because of the parry mechanics that even the most powerful bosses can’t counter, then Wuchang: Fallen Feathers may disappoint you, as some types of damage are simply impossible to reflect.
With the help of the Parry Anything mod, Wuchang will be able to parry absolutely any blow and leave the enemy standing motionless in a frenzy from such a maneuver.
Increased Consumables Stack
Each item in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has a limit on how many you can carry and store in your inventory at one time. While this is done for balance reasons to prevent grinders from getting too high by collecting power-up consumables, the inventory limit seems out of place.
However, you can completely remove this limitation with the Increased Consumables Stack mod, which allows you to collect and consume as many rice buns as you want.
Fast Item Pick Up
As you have probably already noticed, many people are not happy with how long it takes Uchan to perform certain actions.
The Fast Item Pick Up mod increases the item pickup animation by 50%, so now you can simply run up to a chest, quickly pick up its contents, and quickly leave without engaging in unnecessary fights with enemies.
100% Save File
However, even with these tricks, it will take over 30 hours to fully complete Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and you can spend twice as long if you decide to collect all the items and unlock all the content in the game.
By using this save file, you will be able to immediately get a super-pumped version of Wuchang at your disposal with all the necessary items and fully unlocked skill points.
With that kind of power, you shouldn’t have any problems even beating New Game Plus.
Even Better Photo Mode
While Wuchang: Fallen Feathers can be accused of being derivative, it’s unlikely that anyone would question the beauty of this game (and its main character).
With that in mind, you’ll probably want to save some particularly good still frames as a keepsake, but the in-game tools don’t allow you to do that.
This modification corrects this glaring omission by adding a full-fledged photo mode, allowing you to pause the game at any time using a hotkey and capture the irresistible beauty of Wuchang.
