In-home care provider Avid Health at Home has acquired Tech Medical Home Care Services, a provider of home health and personal home care services.
The deal expands Avid’s footprint into two new states and is the company’s eighth acquisition.
“Tech Medical has a strong local team, deep community roots and a strong commitment to quality that very much mirrors ours,” Jen Lentz, CEO of Avid Health at Home, told Home Health Care News. “Between their programs, their payer mix and what we thought we could do to grow within this space — building on what they already had — was right there. … we were very much aligned with them.”
Based in Chicago, Illinois, Avid Health at Home was created in 2023 through Havencrest Capital Management’s acquisition of For Papa’s Sake Home Care. The company provides personal care, private duty home health care and companion care, among other services, in Illinois, North Carolina and Michigan. The Tech Medical deal expands its footprint into Kentucky and Ohio.
Dallas-based Havencrest Capital Management, a healthcare-focused private equity company with over $600 million in assets under management.
Tech Med offers home health and personal care services for individuals in eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
“I genuinely feel that it was the right deal at the right time. This was less about timing in the market and more about finding the right partner,” Lentz said. “We were ready organizationally. We do deals that make us feel really confident that we can be successful, and this one just kind of checked all of those boxes.”
As for future M&A deals, Lentz noted that Avid’s pipeline is active.
“We are in numerous conversations,” she added.
Avid Health at Home’s acquisition of Tech Med comes after the company’s acquisitions of Home Care Angels, which provides personal care, home services and other support for older adults, and Private Duty Home Healthcare, a Michigan-based personal care and private duty nursing services provider, in April 2025.
Lentz declined to disclose the terms of the deal.
