Many players are currently interested in information about the system requirements for Crimson Desert on PCs, laptops, and Macs. Pearl Abyss ‘s new game project is built on the proprietary BlackSpace Engine and boasts beautiful visuals with a photorealistic bent. However, its system requirements are quite lenient, especially when compared to other new RPGs. Let’s take a closer look.

Minimum requirements

If you just want to run Crimson Desert and play it at least on minimum graphics settings with an upscale to 1080p (from 900p) and 30 FPS, you’ll need the following system:

• OS: not lower than Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2
• Processor: no worse than Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 5500 XT
• Disk space: at least 150 gigabytes on SSD

However, we’d like to reassure you right away that even these specs are likely too high for the game, given that it runs on the same engine as Black Desert. We expect it to be playable on CPUs like the i3-8100 (Ryzen 3 1600) and graphics cards like the GTX 1050 Ti or RX 570. However, in this case, the resolution will have to be reduced to 720p, and the frame rate may well drop to 25 FPS.

Low requirements

To play Crimson Desert at a true 1080p resolution and 30 FPS on low graphics settings, you’ll need the following system:

• OS: not lower than Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2
• Processor: no worse than Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 6500 XT

Recommended requirements

If you don’t care about low settings and want to play Crimson Desert at least on medium settings at 1080p and 60 FPS (or 4K at 30 FPS), you’ll need to prepare the following system:

• OS: not lower than Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2
• Processor: not worse than Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6700 XT
• Disk space: at least 150 gigabytes on SSD

Given that the settings listed here are medium, it’s safe to assume the developers aren’t taking ray tracing into account. Therefore, an earlier-generation graphics card, such as a GTX 1080 Ti, would likely be suitable for these settings.

High demands

Now let’s move on to the real heavyweights. If you want to play this RPG at high settings in 2K resolution and a stable 60 frames per second, make sure you have the following PC configuration:

• OS: not lower than Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2
• Processor: no worse than Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 7700 XT

However, it’s still unclear how much ray tracing will impact the computer load, and what format it will be implemented in the game. Path Tracing, for example, can reduce performance by almost half in some games. It’s possible that enabling it at 2K will require a graphics card no worse than the RTX 5080 .

Maximum requirements

For those who want to play this action RPG at ultra graphics settings in 4K resolution and 60 FPS, you should prepare the following system:

• OS: not lower than Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2
• Processor: not worse than Intel Core i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7700X
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070 XT
• Disk space: at least 150 gigabytes on SSD

The question here is the same as in the previous section: does the game have Path Tracing and does it count towards the stated requirements? We’ll know more about this only after the project’s official release.

Crimson Desert system requirements for laptops

We’ll look at laptop specifications separately, as many people play similar games on them, but the hardware on these devices typically differs from desktop ones. There’s no official information from the developers, but we’ve made a rough estimate of the specs needed to run Crimson Desert.

Minimum requirements

• Processor: not worse than Intel Core i5-8550U
• RAM: at least 16 gigabytes
• GPU: no worse than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650M / RTX 2050M or AMD Radeon RX 5600M
• Disk space: at least 150 gigabytes on SSD

On a laptop with a GTX 1650M, you can likely run the game at 720p resolution with a minimum graphics setting and upscale to Full HD at 30 FPS. For a stable 60 FPS at low settings, you’ll need a graphics card like the RTX 2050M.

Recommended requirements

With this laptop, you’ll be able to play Crimson Desert at a full 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, but you’ll need to set the graphics settings to medium-high.

Graphics modes in Crimson Desert on consoles

Depending on which console you plan to play this game on, the available graphics modes will vary. For example, on the most powerful PlayStation 5 Pro, you can select the Quality setting, which allows you to run the game with ultra ray tracing in true 4K resolution, while on the comparatively weaker Xbox Series S, ray tracing is completely absent.
